、 an acidity, expressed in mass fraction of sulphuric acid, greater than 0,002 %; zirconium with a particle size of less than 40 m. NOTE In EN 14035-2, serpents are classified as follows: brief description: preformed shape of pyrotechnic composition with or without support; principal effect: generati

Conformity to this requirement shall be
、 verified by visual examination. NOTE Some serpents do not have an initial fuse (they produce the effect immediately after ignition). 4.2 Net explosive content When determined in accordance with 8.2, a serpent shall have a net explosive content of not more than 3,0 g. 5 Performance 5.1 Initial fuse
、(if applicable) When tested in accordance with 8.1, the initial fuse shall ignite within 10 s and the ignition shall be visible. NOTE Some serpents do not have an initial fuse (they produce their effect immediately after ignition). 5.2 Ignition of serpent When tested in accordance with 8.1, a serpen
、t shall ignite within 10 s and the ignition shall be visible. EN 14035-29:2004 (E) 8 5.3 Principal effect When tested in accordance with 8.1, the principal effect of the serpent, as given in EN 14035-2, shall be the generation of expanded residue. 5.4 Burning of pyrotechnic composition When tested i
、n accordance with 8.1 the pyrotechnic composition of the serpent shall be consumed completely. 5.5 Burning matter When tested in accordance with 8.1, the functioning of the serpent shall not cause the test paper to catch fire or any holes to be burnt in the test paper. 5.6 Extinguishing of any flame
、s When tested in accordance with 8.1, any flames caused by the functioning of the serpent shall be extinguished within 5,0 s of the serpent ceasing to function. 6 Primary pack The primary pack shall completely enclose the serpent(s) and there shall be no holes or splits in the pack. Conformity to th

Additional text given in another language shall not conflict with the specified information. Conformity to the requirements specified in 7.1 to 7
、.5, 7.6.1 and 7.7 shall be verified by visual examination. NOTE Examples of typical labels for bangers, for which many of the marking requirements are similar to those specified for primary packs of serpents in this standard, are given in EN 14035-4. 7.2 Type name and category The type name shall be
、 marked, in upper case, as SERPENTS. If a trade name is used in addition to the type name, it shall not conflict with the effect of a serpent or with the name of another type of firework.
