Scope1.1 This specification covers

3、 asphalt cement for use in theconstruction of pavements.1.2 This specification covers the following penetrationgrades:4050, 120150, and6070, 200300.85100,1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be

4、exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.2. Properties4.1 The asphalt cement shall be homogeneous and shall notfoam when heated to 175C 350F.4.2 The asphalt cement shall

7、conform to the requirementsgiven in Table 1 or Table 2, as specified by the purchaser. Table2 requirements limit the temperature susceptibility of asphaltover Table 1 requirements. Asphalts that meet Table 2 require-ments will also meet Table 1 requirements of the same grade.5. Methods of Sampling a
