Theminimumdigitalresolutionisgivenfordevicesconvertingthedigitalvalueproportionaltotheopticaldensity.If thedigitalvalueisconvertedproportionaltothelightintensity,thedigitalresolutionhastobeincreasedatleastby 2additionalbits.
