In order to obtain a satisfactory stress distribution in the region where the end joins the cylindrical part, any thickening of the end that may be required shall be gradual from the point of juncture. For the application of this rule, the point

17、 of juncture between the cylindrical part and the end is defined by the horizontal line indicating dimensionH in Figure 1. Shape B shall not be excluded from this requirement. 19、 ends are used, the dimensions defined in Figure 2 shall be not less than the following calculated values: al = 2a; a2 = 2a; h = 0,120; r = 0,0750. o t Figure 2 - Concave base ends In order to obtain a satisfactory stress distribution, the thickness of the cylinder shall increase progressively in th

20、e transition area region between the cylindrical part and the base, and the wall shall be free from defects. The cylinder manufacturer shall prove by the pressure cycling prototype test as required in A. 1 that the design is satisfactory. 5.5 Neck design 5.5.1 The external diameter and thickness of

21、the formed neck end of the cylinder shall be adequate for the torque applied in fitting the valve to the cylinder. The torque may vary according to the diameter of thread, the form of thread, and the sealant used in the fitting of the valve. NOTE For recommended valving torques see EN IS0 13341. 5.5

22、.2 expansion of the neck during initial and subsequent fitting of the valve into the cylinder. Where the cylinder is specifically designed to be fitted with neck reinforcement, such as a neck-ring or shrunk-on collar, this may be taken into account (see EN IS0 13341). 24、linder. In addition, the shape should preferably be cylindrical and shall give the cylinder sufficient stability. The foot-ring shall be secured to the cylinder by a method other than welding, brazing or soldering. Any gaps which may form water traps shall be sealed to prevent ingress of water, by a

25、 method other than welding, brazing or soldering. 5.7 Neck-rings As agreed between the parties, a neck-ring, if provided, shall be sufficiently strong and made of material compatible with that of the cylinder, and shall be securely attached by a method other than welding, brazing or soldering. The m

26、anufacturer shall ensure that the axial load to remove the neck-ring is greater than 10 times the weight of the empty cylinder and not less than 1 O00 N, also that the minimum torque required to turn the neck-ring is greater than 100 N-m. 5.8 Design drawing A fully dimensioned drawing shall be prepa

27、red which includes the specification of the material, and details of the permanent fittings. 28、 a solid ingot or billet; or manufacturing from seamless tube; or pressing from a flat plate; or cold working or cryoforming preform. Metal shall not be added in the process of closure of the end. Manufacturing defects shall not be corrected by plugging of bases. 6.2 Wall thickness Each cylinder sha

29、ll be examined for thickness. The wall thickness at any point shall not be less than the minimum thickness specified. 6.3 Surface defects The internal and external surfaces of the finished cylinder shall be free from defects which would adversely affect the safe working of the cylinder. See annex B.

30、 6.4 Ultrasonic examination Except as identified in C.6, all cylinders shall be ultrasonically examined for defects in accordance with annex C. 6.5 Neck threads The internal neck threads shall conform to a recognized standard agreed between the parties to permit the use of a corresponding valve, thu

31、s minimizing neck stresses following the valve torquing operation. Internal neck threads shall be checked using gauges corresponding to the agreed neck thread, or by an alternative method agreed between the parties. For example, where the neck thread is specified to be in accordance with EN 629-1, t

32、he corresponding gauges are specified in EN 629-2. Particular care shall be taken to ensure that neck threads are accurately cut, are of full form and free from any sharp profiles, e.g. burrs. 8 BSI 05-2000 Page 16 EN 1964-32000 6.6 Out-of roundness The out-of-roundness of the cylindrical shell, i.e

33、. the difference between the maximum and minimum outside diameters at the same cross-section, shall not exceed 2 % of the mean of these diameters. 6.7 Mean diameter The mean external diameter shall not deviate more than +1 % from the nominal design diameter. 6.8 Straightness The maximum deviation of

34、 the cylindrical part of the shell from a straight line shall not exceed 3 mm per metre length. 6.9 Stability For a cylinder designed to stand on its base, the deviation from vertical shall be less than 1 % of its height, and the outer diameter of the surface in contact with the ground shall be grea

35、ter than 75 % of the nominal outside diameter. 36、ers on which all operations affecting mechanical properties have been completed. Such cylinders need not have been pressure tested. For locations of test pieces, see Figure 3. Where cold working or cryoforming causes inhomogeneity of mechanical properties within the cylinder, sufficient sets of test

38、0 7.1.2 Test procedures 7.1.2.1 Tensile test 7.1.2.1.1 of the cylinder by using either rectangular specimens or machined round specimens. The tensile test shall be carried out on material taken fkom the cylindrical part For rectangular specimens, the tensile test shall be carried out according to EN

39、 10002-1 on a test piece shaped in accordance with Figure 4 and with a gauge length Lo = 5,65 if the wall thickness does not permit a final test piece width of 1 O mm, the width shall be as near as practicable to the nominal thickness of the cylinder wall. 7.1.2.4.2 The minimum acceptable values are

40、 specified in Table 2. Table 2 - Minimum acceptable impact strength values 8 BSI 052000 Page 21 EN 1964-312000 7.1.2.5 Intergranular corrosion test 7.1.2.5.1 This test is required on austenitic and duplex stainless steel grades only. 7.1.2.5.2 The test shall be carried out in accordance with EN IS0

41、365 1-2. 7.1.2.5.3 a specimen geometry suitable for bend testing. The test requires that specimens be taken from a part of the cylinder providing 7.2 Hydraulic burst test 7.2.1 Procedure 7.2.1.1 Test installation The test equipment as shown in Figure 6 shall be capable of operation in accordance wit

42、h the test conditions specified in 7.2.1.2, and of producing accurately the information required by 7.2.2 and 7.2.3. 44、tions As the cylinder and test equipment are being filled with water, care shall be taken to ensure that no air is trapped in the circuit by operating the hydraulic pump until water is discharged from the vent or air-release valve. During the test, pressurization shall be carried out in two successi

45、ve stages. a) test up to a pressure value corresponding to the initiation of plastic deformation. In the first stage, the strain rate in the elastic range shall not exceed that in the tensile b) as is possible until the cylinder bursts. In the second stage, the pump discharge rate shall be maintaine

47、ure (p,) attained during the test. - Examination of the tear and of the shape of its edges. 7.2.2.2 The measured burst pressure (pb) shall be: The observed yield pressure by) shall be: 1 F Py -Ph- 7.2.2.3 The burst test shall not cause fragmentation of the cylinder. 7.2.2.4 The main fracture in the

48、cylindrical portion shall not be brittle, i.e. the fracture edges shall be inclined with respect to the wall. The tear shall not reveal a significant defect in the metal and the tear shall not extend beyond the centre line of the cylinder at the neck or the base. For cylinders with wall thickness le

49、ss than 7,5 mm, the fracture shall be acceptable only if it conforms to one of the following descriptions. a) For quenched and tempered cylinders: - longitudinal, without branching (Figure 7); or - longitudinal, with a side branching at each end which in no case extends beyond a quarter of the cylinder circumference from the fracture (Figure 8). b) For cryoformed or solution annealed cylinders: - longitudinal, without branching (Figure 7); or - longitudinal, with a side branching at each end which in no case exceeds half the cyl
