The obsolescent BS 1184:1976 is also withdrawn. WARNING. The national foreword to BS EN 274:1993 cautioned that the incorrect
4、 use of products conforming to that standard in a UK waste water system could result in a health hazard. This is still true for some of the products under the scope of this standard. To be used satisfactorily with traditional UK installations having 1 !,1 “ and 2 Imperial-sized threaded outlets, the
5、 internal diameter of the threaded end of the waste outlet should be not less than 36 mm, 41.7 mm or 51.9 mm respectively, this to extend for a least 7 mm from the threaded end of the waste outlet. 28、nalandexternalsurfacesofthewastefittingsshallbesmooth,free fromgrooving,blisteringoranyothersurfacedefectslikelytoimpairtheirfunctioning. TheappearanceofvisibleelectrodepositedNiCrcoatingsshallcomplywithEN248. 4.3Materials Wasteoutletsandtrapsshallbemanufacturedfrommaterialswhichwithstandintermitten
29、tcontactwithdomestic wastewaterwithatemperaturerangefrom(205)Cto95 0 2 Cwhentestedinaccordancewithclause3of EN2742:2002.Wasteoutletsandtrapsmadeofonlymetallicmaterialsaredeemedtosatisfythisrequirement. Thematerialsusedshallbesuchthatthefinishedproductsmeettherequirementsofthisstandard.Itisthe respon
30、sibilityofthemanufacturerofthewastefittingstoemploymaterialswhicharefitforthispurpose.This requirementdoesnotcovertheuseofaggressivedraincleaningmaterials.Theuseofsuchmaterialsisbeyondthe scopeofthisstandard.EN2741:2002(E) 5 4.4Design 4.4.1 Wasteoutlets Wasteoutletsmaybemanufacturedinonepieceormayco
31、mprisevariouspiecesjoinedtogethermechanically, eitherwithorwithoutanoverflow.Theycanincludeatrap. WasteoutletsnotfittedwithatrapshallhaveathreadedoraplainoutletdimensionedasgiveninTable1. Wasteoutletscanbefittedwithafixedorremovablegrille. 4.4.2Traps Trapsmaybeeithertubularorbottletype,thelatterhavi
32、ngeitheradivisionordiptube.Alltrapsshallbecapableof beingcleaned.Otherdesignsarepermissible,providedthattheymeetalltherequirementsofthisstandard. InallcasesitshallnotbepossibletoreducethedepthofthewatersealbelowtheminimumasgiveninTable2. Trapinletsshallbesuchthattheycanbeconnectedtowasteoutletsofthe
33、appropriatesizewhenthetrapis suppliedasaseparateitem. Additionalinletsandoverflowsshallbeconnectedinsuchawaythatthedepthofwaterseal H,inaccordancewith Table2,isensured.
