19、lmassconcentrationofspecific elementsinfluegasesofwasteincinerators.DuringtheestablishmentofthisEuropeanStandardfieldtestswere performedinordertodeterminesomeperformancecharacteristics.Thesetestsshowedthatinthe“gaseous” phasemostoftheelementscannotbedeterminedquantitativelyintheabsorptionsolutions.T
20、herefore,theresults ofthismethodareexpressedasthetotalelementmassconcentrations(i.e.sumofgaseous,dissolvedindroplets, solidandadsorbedonparticles).Thismeansthatwhenthespecificelementsaremainlyinthesolidphaseno significantlosses(biases)shouldoccurduetothepoorabsorptionefficiencyfortheelementsinthegas
21、eous phase.Thequalitycheckrequirementforapprovaloftheresultsisthemassinthelastabsorberexpressedasa minimumpercentageofthetotalmass;thisminimumissetataratherhighlevel,basedontheexperiencesofthe absorptionefficienciesinthefieldtests. WhenthisEuropeanStandardisappliedforconditionsthataredifferentfromth
