16、ile fibre names and related labelling and marking of the fibre composition of textile products and repealing Council Directive 73/44/EEC and Directives 96/73/EC and 2008/121/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (OJ n L 272 of 18 October 2011) lays down, amongst others, rules concerning t
17、he labelling or marking of certain textile products which contain non-textile parts of animal origin. It sets out the requirement to indicate the presence of non-textile parts of animal origin on the labelling or marking of textile products containing such parts, in order to enable consumers to make
18、 informed choices. Leather falls into the category of materials covered by the terminology “non-textile part of animal origin”. This European Standard lists the requirements for a label or marking of leather trims in textile products and proposes a model label or marking that complies with the manda
19、tory requirements as set out in Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 ensuring consistency with the CEN Standards regarding the identification of leather and the terminology of the leather industry. BS EN 16483:2014EN 16483:2014 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard sets out the rules for the indication of le
20、ather in the labels or markings of non-textile parts of textile products where leather is used as a part, component, ornament or trim. 2 Normative references The following documents, in whole or in part, are normatively referenced in this document and are indispensable for its application. 22、 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions given in EN 15987 and the following apply. 3.1 textile products any raw, semi-worked, worked, semi-manufactured, manufactured, semi-made-up or made-up product which is exclusively composed of textile fibr
23、es, regardless of the mixing or assembly process employed SOURCE: Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 3.2 non-textile parts of animal origin in textile products materials issued from the transformation of animal tissue into parts, trims, ornaments or components to be incorporated into other complex article
24、s excluding textiles, provided that they do not exceed 20 % by weight of a textile product 3.3 leather (see EN 15987) 3.4 labelling means affixing the required information to the textile product by way of attaching a label 3.5 marking means indicating the required information directly on the textile
25、 product by way of sewing, embroidering, printing, embossing or any other technology of application 4 Testing EN ISO 17131 shall be used where appropriate for the identification of leather. 26、ent in the labelling of non-textile parts of animal origin in textile product 5.1 Where a textile product comprises leather amongst the non-textile parts of animal origin, it shall be identified in the label or marking stating that such part or parts are made of this specific animal-derived material
27、, by using the leather terms defined in EN 15987. 5.2 The labelling or marking shall be carried out in such a way that the consumer can easily understand to which part of the product the information regarding leather on the label refers, by identifying the part or parts in words or in graphics next
28、to the appropriate leather term. 5.3 The text in the labelling or marking of leather trims in textile products shall be displayed in a manner that is easily legible, visible, clear and in print which is uniform as regards its size, style and font. 5.4 The label or marking of leather trims in textile
29、 products shall be affixed next to the other compulsory labels or markings. 6 Labels and marks for leather trims in textile products The label or marking applied to the article according to this European Standard shall be structured in 4 parts according to the example reported in Table 1. 32、ended to be placed on the EU market should be labelled or marked by using the phrase “Contains non-textile parts of animal origin”. The labelling or marking of textile products should be durable, easily legible, visible and accessible and, in the case of a label, securely attached. The labelling or
33、marking of textile products should be accurate and displayed separately from the indications of textile names and fibre composition as well as trademarks and brand names. The labelling or marking of textile products should be made in the official language or languages of the Member State on the terr
34、itory of which the textile products are made available to the consumer, unless the Member State concerned provides otherwise.
