17、ctronic components of assessed mty. The object of the System is to facilitate international haie by the harmonization of the specifications and quality assessment procedures for electronic components, and by the grant of an jnternationally recognized Mark, or Certificate, of Conformity. The componen

18、ts produced under the System are thereby acceptable in all member countries without further testjng. This European Standard was prepared by CECC WG 26, Fibre ptic Connectors. The text of the draft based on document CECC 86 130 Issue 1 : 1993 was submitted to the formal vote for conversion to a Europ

26、 GENERAL 1. General 1.1 scope This SS covers type UA fibre optic connector sets. Type LSA defines single way connectors with a M 53 111111 x 5 mm screw thread coupling mechanism and a cylindrical butting femile of 2,5 111111 nominal diameter . This specification contah the requirements for type LSA

27、connector sets. Detail specincations (DSs) shall be prepared using the following pro forma general blank detail specifications (BDSs) associated with the generic specincation. For example: EN 186 005 Environmental Category V. When completed, the DSs applicable to this SS shall be renumbered in accon

28、 ,-ice with CECC 00 700 (Section rv) Issue 1, clause 4.2, as follows. 33、EN 186130 : 1994 Clearance grade This describes the tolerance field of the leading diameter of fede and sleeve. The clearance grade is given by 5 mmber, running fiom O (tightest tolerance) to 5 (see Annex 2). The ailocation of clearatbe grade and tolerance field is described in the relevant DS. Ecce

34、ntricity grade This describes the tolerance field that combines the tolerance of the borehole and its concentricity to the axis of the plug. This information is only applicable for field mountable connectors. The eccentricity grade is given by a number, running from O (lowest tolerance) to 5. The al

35、location of grade and tolerance field is descried in the relevant DS. Aaenuation grade This describes an area of a given attenuation. It is only considerable for pigtailed connector sets. The attenuation grade is given by a number, running from O (lowest tolerance) to 5. The allocation of the grade

36、and tolerance field is described in the relevant DS. Qualiy grade This gives the combination of clearance grade, eccentricity grade and attenuation grade. The quality grade is given by the highest number of the three mentioned subgrades. Example: Pigtailed connector set Safey Optical fibre mnnectors

37、, when used as part of an optical fibre system, may emit/produce potentially hazardous radiation. The manufacturers of connectors are not obliged to mark them as such, but sufficient information should be made avaible in the manufacturers literature to enable the system designer to assess the degree

38、 of hazard. This information shaii be given prominence in the DS. The assembly instructions, included in the connector package, shall give a prominent warning to the assembler, of the necessary work practices. The responsibility for the safe appiication of the connector lies with the system design e

39、ngineer, who should refer to IEC 825. As there is no safety guide for light emitting diodes (LEDs), iEC 825 shall apply to systems using these also. The requirements for connector set components covered by this specification are as specXed herei

Ciassincation The connector sets covered by this specification are classified as : Type : - typeUA - screw thread coupiing mechanism - configurations: plug / adaptor / plug - - plug/socket. Arrangements: - kit - patchcord. - pigtail Environmental categories : The DS-writer

43、shaii select the appropiate BDS for the chosen environmental category. Assessment levels : - level A - level B - level C. The single limit (maximum or minimum) mating face dimensions for connector set configurations are given in Figures 1, 2 and 3, which use first angle projection according to IS0 1
