33、tion 4: Basic dimensions of containers for taper barrelled delivery spools.3 General notes on methods of testUnless otherwise specified, all tests shall be carried out within a range from 15 C to 35 C and a relative humidity from 45 % to 75 %.In case of dispute, the containers shall be pre-condition
34、ed at a temperature of (23 2) C for 24 h.4 Container IrregularitiesThe surface, colour and construction shall be visually inspected.5 Container markingThe container marking shall be visually inspected.6 Container massThe mass of the container shall be controlled by an apparatus having a scale which
35、can indicate the specified weight and tolerance.7 Container dimensionsThe container dimensions shall be checked using suitable measuring instruments.8 High temperature testThe container shall be conditioned for a period of 2 h in an oven with forced air circulation at a temperature specified in the
36、relevant specification. The container shall be allowed to cool to room temperature before the dimensional checks as specified in Clause 7 are carried out.9 Moisture testThe container shall be conditioned for a period of 24 h in water of a temperature of (30 3) C. After removal from the water the dim
37、ensional checks as specified in Clause 7 shall be carried out.EN 60264-4-2:19944 BSI 5 May 200410 Load resistance test10.1 At room temperatureAfter conditioning for a minimum of 24 h at a temperature of (20 5) C, the container shall be loaded for 72 h as shown in Figure 1. The load shall be specifie
38、d in the relevant specification.The load shall have a smooth surface and shall have a minimum diameter as given for the relevant size d1in IEC 60264-3-4 .After the load has been removed, the dimensional checks as specified in Clause 7 shall be carried out.10.2 At elevated temperatureThe container sh
39、all be loaded according to 10.1 and then heated as illustrated in Figure 1. The maximum surface temperature within the angle and the distance “a” shall be specified in the relevant specification.After the specified surface temperature has been reached, the container shall be maintained at this tempe
40、rature for 8 h. Then the lamps shall be switched off and the container shall be cooled down under load to room temperature.After the load has been removed the container shall be checked for deformation.11 Impact test11.1 At room temperatureAfter conditioning the container for 24 h at a temperature o
41、f (20 5) C, the hammer shall be released to strike against the wall of the container as illustrated in Figure 2.The mass of the hammer and the sizes h1, h2and h3shall be specified in the relevant specification.11.2 At low temperatureAfter conditioning for 24 h at a temperature specified in the relev
42、ant specification, the container shall immediately be tested as illustrated in Figure 2.The mass of the hammer and the sizes h1, h2and h3shall be specified in the relevant specification.12 Lifting device testA mass (6) shall be placed in the centre of the bottom of the container (see Figure 3). The
43、weight of this mass shall be specified in the relevant specification. The container bottom shall then be locked (5).NOTE The locking device shown in Figure 3 is an example and is not intended to show any particular construction.The container lifting device (4) shall be suspended on a suitable appara
44、tus (1) by means of a rope (2). The container lifting device and the lifting apparatus shall be connected.
