10、ns The specimens shall be fitted with all their contacts, wired in accordance with the detail specification. 4 lest method For each test method described, five contacts shall be tested. 11、S 0599LiLb 97b m Page 4 EN 60512-15-8 : 1996 Method 1 : Rotation of the extraction tool The specified extraction tool shall be introduced into a cavity containing the contact. An axial load as specified in the detail specification shall be applied and maintained while alternating rotations of the to

12、ol are carried out as shown in figure 1. The contact shall then be extracted with the extraction tool, and then reintroduced with the appropriate insertion tool. This operation shall be carried out three times on each of the five contacts. Method 2: Rotation of the insertion tool The contact shall f

13、irst be withdrawn and reinserted into its cavity using the insertion tool on which an axial load as specified in the detail specification is applied. With this load maintained, alternating rotations, as shown in figure 1, shall be carried out. The tool is then extracted and the contact withdrawn wit

14、h the extraction tool. This operation shall be carried out three times on each of the five contacts. If a tool is damaged during the test, a new tool shall be used. 5 Final measurements The specimens shall be subjected to the following tests, if applicable: - visual examination (test la of IEC 512-2

15、 IEC 512-1-1 I); - contact retention in insert (test 15a of IEC 512-8 IEC 512-15-11). 6 Details to be specified When this test is required by the detail specification, the following details shall be specified: a) type and size of wire used; b) tool for insertion of contacts; c) tool for extraction o

16、f contacts; d) axial load to be applied on the tool for methods 1 and 2; e) value of contact retention force.
