19、ing operationsandforqualitycontrolduringwelding.Weldingisconsideredaspecialprocessintheterminologyof standardsforqualitysystems.Standardsforqualitysystemsusuallyrequirethatspecialprocessesbecarriedoutin accordancewithwrittenprocedurespecifications. Preparationofaweldingprocedurespecificationprovides

20、thenecessarybasisfor,butdoesnotinitselfensurethat theweldsfulfiltherequirements.Somedeviations,notablyimperfectionsanddistortions,canbeevaluatedbynon destructivemethodsonthefinishedproduct. Metallurgicaldeviationsconstituteaspecialproblem,however,becausenondestructiveevaluationofthe mechanicalproper

21、tiesisimpossibleatthepresentlevelofnondestructivetechnology,thishasresultedinthe establishmentofasetofrulesforqualificationoftheweldingprocedurepriortothereleaseofthespecificationto actualproduction.ThisEuropeanStandarddefinestheserules.ENISO15607:2003(E) 5 1Scope ThisEuropeanStandardispartofaseries

Thisstandarddefinesgeneralrulesforthespecificationandqualificationofweldingproceduresformetallic materials.Thisstandardalsoreferstos

23、everalotherstandardsasregardsdetailedrulesforspecificapplications. Thisstandardisapplicabletomanual,mechanizedandautomaticwelding. Weldingproceduresarequalifiedbyconformingtooneormoreweldingprocedurequalificationrecords(WPQR). Theuseofaparticularmethodofqualificationisoftenarequirementofanapplicatio
