It was transferred to the 3rdGeneration Partnership Project (3GPP) in December 2007. The contents of the present document are subject to continuing work within the

22、TSG and may change following formal TSG approval. Should the TSG modify the contents of the present document, it will be re-released by the TSG with an identifying change of release date and an increase in version number as follows: Version x.y.z where: x the first digit: 1 presented to TSG for info

23、rmation; 2 presented to TSG for approval; 3 or greater indicates TSG approved document under change control. y the second digit is incremented for all changes of substance, i.e. technical enhancements, corrections, updates, etc. z the third digit is incremented when editorial only changes have been

ETSI ETSI TS 123 417 V7.0.0 (2007-12) 6 3GPP TS 23.417 version 7.0.0 Release 7 1 Scope The present document describes the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core component of the TISPAN NGN functional architecture and its relationships to other subsystems and components. Use

25、 of IMS functional entities in support of transit scenarios is incompletely described. Completion of this description is dependent on ongoing work in 3GPP. NOTE: 3GPP SA2 is working on a solution for IMS transit, according to an agreement between TISPAN and 3GPP. When ready, that solution will repla

26、ce any solution documented by TISPAN in case of discrepancy. The affected IMS functional entities, and the way they perform transit routing, may also be different in the SA2 solution than what is documented in the present document. The SA2 solution will be added to the TISPAN Release-1 documentation

47、yer (see figure 1). The service layer comprises the following components: The IP Multimedia Subsystem core component (IMS). The PSTN/ISDN Emulation Subsystem (PES). Other multimedia subsystems (e.g. streaming subsystem, content broadcasting subsystem etc.) and applications. Common components (i.e. u

48、sed by several subsystems) such as those required for accessing applications, charging functions, user profile management, security management, routing data bases (e.g. ENUM), etc. IP-connectivity is provided to NGN user equipment by the transport layer, under the control of the Network Attachment S

49、ubSystem (NASS) and the Resource and Admission Control Subsystem (RACS). These subsystems hide the transport technology used in access and core networks below the IP layer. The present document further describes the functional architecture of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core component.
