SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a polypropylene polymer or copolymer molding compound suitable for extrusion. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for materials used for extruded ite

3、ms such as jacketing in cable assemblies. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 MOLDED TEST SPECIMENS - BASE MATERIAL (Specimens prepar

4、ed per ASTM D 2146) 3.1.1 Specific Gravity 0.890 - 0.920 (ASTM D 792) 3.1.2 Flow Rate, max 2.5 g/10 min (ASTM D 1238, Condition “L“) 3.1.3 Melting Point, min 160 C (FLTM BO 021-02) 3.1.4 Tensile Strength, at yield, min 3,500 psi (24.2 MPa) (ASTM D 638, Speed “C“) Elongation, at max load, min 8.0% 3.

8、3.3.1 Color As specified on engineering drawing 3.3.2 Water Absorption, max 0.05% (ASTM D 570 - 24 h immersion) 3.3.3 Cold Flexibility at -40 C No cracking Test Method: Cut from the part 3 specimens 0.5 in (13 mm) wide at least 4 in (100 mm) long, and 0.100 - 0.140 in (2.5 - 3.5 mm) thick. If it is

9、not feasible to obtain samples from the part type I or III tensile bars may be used. Condition the specimen to -40 +/- 1 C for 4 h in cold chamber. Without removing from chamber, bend the specimens 180 over a temperature conditioned mandrel having a 3/4 in (19 mm) diameter. The bending shall be accomplished within 5 s.
