SCOPE This specification defines the adhesion requirements for an adhesive or an adhesive system suitable for bonding molded weatherstrip to glass in module window assembly. 2. APPLICATION This specification was rele
3、ased originally for adhesives used to bond ESB-M2D284 polyvinyl chloride weatherstrip to plain and ESB-M99G109 ceramic coated glass. Compliance with this performance specification does not guarantee the adhesive will function for all potential applications on a vehicle. The specific assembly should
4、be evaluated to Design Engineering performance requirements. Materials meeting this performance specification are specified on the Corporate Approved Source List. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 CONDITIONING All test values indicated herein are based on materials conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/-
5、 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise stated herein. 3.2 PEEL ADHESION Average load specified or substrate breakage Subject bonded test assemblies to the following exposures: . 9、re. . Subject three test assemblies to each environment listed above. . Allow test assemblies to condition 24 h minimum at 23 +/- 2 C after environmental exposure before peel test. . Conduct 180 peel test using a tensile tester at 25 mm/min pull rate. 3.3 MODULE WINDOW ASSEMBLY PERFORMANCE REQUIREME
10、NTS Parts assembled with adhesive shall meet all engineering requirements specified by ES-D7WB-6529600-AA. 3.4 FUNCTIONAL APPROVAL Materials being evaluated for initial approval to this specification shall be subjected to a production trial. Functional trial results should be available to design and
11、 materials engineering prior to material approval and release. 3.5 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any change in the properties, composition, EN
12、GINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M11P31-A Page 3 of 3 construction, color, processing or labeling of the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, T
13、oxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or F
14、ord, apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineering document for the application. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this spec
15、ification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the af
16、fected Materials Engineering activity its own laboratory report to the specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GE
17、NERAL INFORMATION The material data included herein is for information only and is not a requirement for the supplier. 5.1 SUBSTRATES 5.1.1 ESB-M2D348 RIM Urethane - 5.1 mm nominal thickness. 5.1.2 ESB-M4D284 Polyvinyl Chloride - 5.1 mm nominal thickness. 5.1.3 Glass Plate: Use current production plain and ESB-M99G109 ceramic coated glass as specified by the Body and Chassis Engineering Office - 4 mm nominal thickness. 5.2 ADHESIVE Use current production adhesive primer as recommended by the module window assembly supplier.
