、of 1 PETROLATUM, ANTI-SQUEAK COMPOUND ESB-M1C162-A NOT FOR TO BE USED NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a blend of high and low molecular weight hydrocarbons with microcrystalline waxes, high boiling mineral oil, and high molecular weight fatty acids. 2. APPLICATION T
、his specification was released originally for material used as an anti-squeak compound on interior trim materials, including vinyl, metal, glass, polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, polyester and acetal. It is to be used only as a thin film specifically where the contacting surfaces cause the squeak
、ing condition. CAUTION: This compound may cause softening and/or cracking of certain other plastic materials, especially at high stress areas. Use on plastics other than as noted above should be fully evaluated. Do not use on polycarbonate. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MA
、TERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 FILM APPLICATION To be limited to no more than 60 mg over a min area of 26 cm2. Any heavy, excessive amounts of petrolatum to be wiped off with a clean dry
、cloth. 3.3 MATERIAL PROPERTIES 3.3.1 Odor Pleasant 3.3.2 Consistency Grease-like 3.3.3 Melting Point 88 oC (ASTM D 127) 3.4 HEAT AGING STAINING TEST After heat aging as described below, the surface condition of the interior trim material shall be equivalent to the aged control material when compared
、 visually for such properties as staining, spotting, color tone change, exudation, crazing, cracking, delamination, tackiness, stiffness, surface gloss and mark off, blistering or blushing and shall not have any objectionable odors. Test Method: Expose the test samples, containing a mild application
、 of the anti-squeak compound on the materials surface, in an air circulating oven at 102 +/- 2 oC for 7 days. Remove the test samples from the oven. After conditioning to room temperature, wipe the sample surface with a clean dry cloth. Examine the exposed area for discoloration and/or deterioration.
