SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are either laminated or cylinder machine buil
3、t-up boards of good composition and suitable construction and may contain a maximum of 13% asphalt in the core ply. The ESB-M2E13-C and ESB-M2E13-D boards have outer plies of virgin kraft paper. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for materials used for the construction of d
4、eck sides, luggage compartments, front and sides, and other applications specified by engineering. The materials shall be suitable for use as a base for ink decorated, pyroxylin or equivalent coated panel boards. The ESB-M2E13-C and ESB-M2E13-D specifications were released originally for materials u
5、sed for the construction of luggage compartment front and sides where a better bending board was desired in the 1982 T-Bird and XR7 carlines. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS
6、Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing,
7、 or trim patterns (generally one side gray, other side light brown). 3.4 WEIGHT, min 260 lb/1000 ft2(SAE J 315, 0.070 - 0.075 in (1270 g/m2) (1.78 - 1.91 mm) 3.5 SEASONING To minimize warpage, distortions, and dimensional changes, the materials covered by this specification shall be properly seasone

13、Ford Global Technologies, Inc. 3.15 ESB-M2E13-D ONLY 3.15.1 Flammability In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 4 in (101 mm) per min.
14、To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTM BN 024-02. 3.15.2 Performance - Environmental Aging All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated and exceed a
15、max burn rate of 3.0 in (76 mm) per min as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environmental aging requirements applicable to the basic material ca
16、tegory of this particular specification. Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, regardless of max burn rate, must be evaluated for both permane
17、ncy of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.15.3 Flammability Test Program Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB-11014-AA.
