、ATURE CURE, ESB-M2G239-A SEMI-STRUCTURAL 1. SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a pumpable, one-component, heat curing modified vinylresin base, structural adhesive.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used for structural bonding of metal-to-metalbody
、components such as the inner and outer panels (hem flange) of hoods, doors, etc. Thismaterial is oil tolerant and can be applied over oily steel and oily Zincrometal. Optimal adhesionstrengths are achieved at 0.008 - 0.010 in (0.20 - 0.25 mm) bondline thicknesses. Recommendedmaterial cure schedules

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification 4.1 MECHANICAL CONVECTIO
、N OVEN The mechanical oven(s) used to cure the material shall be capable of obtaining 205 C metal temperature on body steel (0.035 in (0.89 mm) within 8 - 10 min. 4.2 PLATEN PRESS A hydraulic press, Pasadena Hydraulics Inc., Model PWOS220, or equivalent, is required to compress and heat cure materia

、05 C metal temperature for 30 min. 4.5 STORAGE STABILITY The material shall be stored at temperatures below 27 C away from all sources of heat and sunlight. Heat greatly accelerates aging. Under these storage conditions, the minimum shelf life of the material shall be 3 months. When these materials
、are stored at temperatures below 23 C, they shall be conditioned at room temperature prior to application. Adequate conditioning permits the material to obtain its optimum application properties. 4.6 WEIGHT PER VOLUME Materials conforming to this specification range from 10.5 - 12.5 lb/gal (1.25 -1.
、49 kg/L). 4.7 TOXICITY Material may be expected to cause strong eye irritation and skin irritation on contact. Chemical goggles and impervious gloves should be worn when handling or mixing material. Material may also cause sensitization in some individuals exposed to high concentrations. The followi
、ng precautions should appear on the label and be observed by all employes: Warning: Contains Epoxy Resins and Amine Hardner. May cause skin irritation. May cause allergic reaction. Avoid skin contact. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with water for 15 minutes and get immediate medical attention. For skin contact, wash immediately with mild soap and water. No special material labeling is required to comply with the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act.
