SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) injection molding compound. The material is supplied in natural or co

3、lor pigmented form, intended only for interior applications, which require a high impact resistance. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for interior automotive body parts, such as “A“ pillar moldings and vent grilles. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

4、 FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 MOLDED MATERIAL (Natural and pigmented injection molded samples) 3.2.1 Specific Gravity 1.01 - 1.22 (ASTM D 792) 3.2.2 Tensile Strength at

6、 Condition a Gardner impact tester (Model IG-1115) with a 4 lb (1.8 kg), 1/2 in (12.7 mm) diameter steel impact head, a 1/2 in (12.7 mm) diameter steel baseplate) and several 4 x 4 x 0.100 +/- 0.005 in (100 x 100 x 2.54 +/- 0.13 mm) injection molded plaques in a low temperature chamber operated at -

7、29 +/- 1 C for 5 h. Remove the impact tester and place on a concrete floor or any minimal energy absorbing surface. Impact the samples within 5 s after removal from cold box. Room temperature tests are to be conducted with the same equipment. No sample shall show any indication of cracking. ENGINEER

9、 “R“, min 95 (ASTM D 785) 3.3 MOLDED PART 3.3.1 Color Natural or as specified on engineering drawing 3.3.2 Physical Properties Specific requirements for physical properties of molded parts, where required, shall be specified on the engineering drawing. 3.3.3 Heat Resistance Finished parts must pass

10、the following test: Test Method: Condition typically assembled parts in car position for 3 h at 102 +/- 3 C (or as specified on engineering drawing). After removal, parts shall show no more than 0.5% shrinkage, nor shall there be local shrinkage where the part has been gated which will interfere wit

11、h assembly to mating parts or affect its appearance. The part shall not warp to an extent that would affect its use in ultimate assembly. 3.3.4 Resistance to Fade (SAE J1885) The material shall fade no more than the master sample approved for production on file in the Quality Control of Test Laborat

12、ory after 120 SFH. 3.3.5 Odor The intensity and character of the material odor shall not be objectionable or offensive. 3.4 FLAMMABILITY, max 4 in (101 mm)/min (FLTM BN 024-02, without the lot sampling plan) In addition, the test specimen shall not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either su

13、rface in excess of the above max value. 5.
