SCOPEThe mate rials defined by these specifications are epoxy type primersurfacers with good adhesion an d enamel holdout properties when applied toreinforced polyester
3、 plastic surfaces.2. APPLICATIONThese specifications were released originally for material used as primersurfacers for glass fiber reinf orced polyester plastics. Subsequently, anex terior acrylic enamel color coat is generally applied. Two types ofprimers are defined as follows:Type I Conductive pr
4、imer - re commended when enamel color coat is appliedwith electrostatic spray equipment.Type II Non-conductive primer - recommended when enamel color coat isapplied with conventional spray equipment.3. The material shall be equivalentin all respects to current approved production p rimer appliedand tested under identical conditions.3.5.2 Production TrialFi nal approval of sanding characteristics shall be made bythe using manufacturing division of the material or pa

Disposition on conductivity of Type I primershall also be made.3.5.3 Adhesion(FLTM BI 106-01)Test material versus current approved production primer. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.8 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon whic
18、h approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the
19、Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions i
20、mposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng a
21、ctivity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test
22、 reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering ap
23、proval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for i ntended processes and/or applications. The ManufacturingEngineering Depa
25、rtment shall notify both the Plant Security and theSafety Units of its pre sence in the Plant to assure that proper fireprecautions are provided. The location in which it is used or storedshall be included in the notification.5.3 TOXICITYThe material shall be non-toxic and shall not cause skin rash
