2、D REQUIREMENTS ESB-M99P1-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE This specification defines the bond requirements of multipally extruded, low tension cables. 2. APPLICATION This specification is used when 2 or more cables are bonded together utilizing a joining web of polyvinyl chloride insulating

REQUIREMENTS 3.1 TEAR STRENGTH (22 +/- 3C) 3.1.1 As Received 1.5 - 8.0 lb (6.7 - 35.6 N) 3.1.2 After Aging, min . 120 h at 121 +/- 3C 1.5 lb (6.7 N) . 20 h immersion at 48 - 50C in 50 % kerosene + 50 % lubricating oil solution. 1.5 lb (6.7 N) Test Method: Cut a sample approximately 12 i
4、n (305 mm) long. Make a 3 in (76 mm) incision between the 2 cables. Place the separated cables in the jaws of the tensile machine. Adjust speed of machine to 12 in (305 mm)/min and begin test. Record the average tear strength in lb (N). 3.2 COLD RESISTANCE No cracking. Test Method: Condition the wir
5、e and a 3 in (76 mm) diameter mandrel a minimum of 3 h at -40C. Bend the wire 180 around the mandrel and examine for cracking of the insulation at the joining web. 3.3 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY Material supplied to this specification must be equivalent to that originally approved. Changes in formulat
6、ion or processing shall not be made without prior approval as described in Supplier Procedure I-A. 4. APPROVAL OF SUPPLIERS Suppliers to this specification must be approved by the affected product engineering office. Procedure for gaining approval of a specific material to a new/existing ES-M specification is contained in Supplier Procedure I-A. Approved new suppliers will be added to the Engineering Materials Approved Source List.
