SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a sized, non-woven,polyester/

2、rayon fabric with an acrylic resin.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used as adecorative and protective cover on fiberglass hood insulators for the1986 Tempo/Topaz.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 CONDITIONINGAll test values indicated herein are based on material conditionedin

3、a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5%relative humidity for 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame controlled conditions.3.2 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSThis material must always be bonded 100% to another material toform a composite that will comply with flammability requirements.3.3

Thecomposite shall not burn

6、 or transmit a flame across its surface, ata rate of more than 101 mm per min. To demonstrate compliance, thesample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTMBN 24-2.3.8 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRYFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared analysis ofmaterial/parts suppl

7、ied to this specification. The spectraestablished for initial approval shall constitute the referencestandard and shall be kept on file at the designated materiallaboratory. All samples shall produce spectra that correspond tothe reference standard when tested under the same conditions asthose speci

8、fied on the master spectrum.3.9 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inall characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any changes in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing, or label

9、ing of the materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology, andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the writt

10、en approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples, and a new code identificationare to be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations, or Ford applyto the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materi

11、al Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1,unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on theengineering document for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMaterials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approv

12、alof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design, and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory report to the specification (test results,not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecimens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
