SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a uniformly needled, nonwoven polyester fabric of good commercial quality, cleaned and free from waste, which is needled into a t hin layer of polyest
3、er urethane foam. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as a backing in the manufacture of ESB -M2F143 - A vinyl coated fabric for landau tops used on 1979 carlines. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specif ication requirements are to be used for initial qualification of
4、 materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5

Timing shall begin at the instant that the solvent touches the fabric, and shall be stopped when fabric wetting i
10、s evidenced by complete flattening of the drop. A minimum of five tests shall be randomly conducted on the above specimen. Each tested area shall meet the above requirement. Add 1 mL of 0.05 N KmnO 4 . . Acidify with 5 mL of 1:1 H 2 SO 4 . . Heat to 70 80 C. 3.11 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials
12、 supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved under this specification, w hether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specif
13、ication requirements, the Supplier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon notification of the Compa ny, further instructions will be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data and samples demonstr
14、ating compliance to this specification, if requested. Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to t he materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS - M99P9999 - A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Mat
15、erials defined by this specification for direct supply to the Company must have prior appro val. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. These include materials critical to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility require
16、ments or contractual agreements. Suppliers d esiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified an d authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification.
