SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are w
3、ell-refined gasolines blended to conform to industry, State, and Federal requirements. 2. APPLICATION ESE-M4C95-A: This specification was released originally for gasoline used as a general purpose fuel where unleaded premium fuel is required. ESE-M4C96-A: This specification was released originally f
4、or gasoline used for engine dynamometer testing where premium unleaded fuel is required. 3. REQUIREMENTS These materials must meet the requirements of ASTM D 4814 Standard Specification for Automotive Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel, plus the following: 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS

8、 OXYGENATES Gasolines containing oxygenated compounds may be used at those Ford facilities located in areas required by the Clean Air Act Amendments, State, Federal or regional requirements. The supplier shall notify the responsible Product Engineering Office of the type and amount of oxygenated com
9、pound and typical properties of the gasoline. 3.13 WATER AND SEDIMENT, max 0.01% (ASTM D 2709) 3.14 ODOR The material shall have the usual characteristic odor of gasoline with no pronounced foreign odor. 3.15 COLOR May include a dye in accordance with standard practice for purpose of vendor and user
10、 identification. 3.16 ADDITIVES Fuels shall contain normal commercial additives at concentrations representative of good commercial practice in the receiving locale (unless otherwise specified). Technical
12、 evidence of these data and manufacturing limits must be tabulated on the attached form. This certification shall be by the suppliers director of research or other authorized official and submitted to the responsible Ford purchasing activity. This information will then be forwarded to the Materials
13、Activity of the Engine Product Engineering Office or to the product engineering office responsible for source approval. 3.18 ETHANOL 0 - 10% (ASTM D 4815) 3.18.1 Sulfates (Denatured Ethanol), ppm max 4.0 (ASTM D 4806 Annex A2/Annex A3/ASTM D 7319) 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below i
14、s provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of these specifications. 5.1 FLAMMABILITY This material represents a potential fire hazard. The Manufacturing Engineering Department shall notify both the Plant Security and the Safety Units of its presence in the Plant to assur
15、e that proper fire precautions are provided.
