SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a composite blend of alumina-silica ceramic fibers, unexpanded vermiculite and a butadiene-acrylonitrile latex binder. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released origi

3、nally for material used as a support and seal for the ceramic monolith used in the catalytic converter. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A

4、). 3.2 COMPOSITION 3.2.1 Alumina-silica Fibers, % 30 - 45 (See test method below)3.2.2 Expanded Vermiculite, % 45 - 60 (See test method below) 3.2.3 Organic Binder, % 6 - 13 (See test method below) Test Method: Qualitative determination of the alumina-silica fibers and expanded vermiculite is accomp

5、lished by ICP analysis. Quantitative analysis is determined by placing 645 mm2samples in an oven set at 110 C for 24 h. Remove and weigh samples. Place in furnace set at 900 C for 1 h.
