SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a vinyl powder which is applied to heated parts by dipping in a fluidized bed or by spraying. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released ori
3、ginally for material used as a protective coating on battery hold downs. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 TEST PANELS Clean CRLC s
4、teel coated per manufacturers recommendations. 3.1.1 Adhesion No flaking or chipping (FLTM BI 106-01) 3.1.2 Salt Spray Resistance (ASTM B 117) 96 h Scribe 2 lines diagonally across the coated panel from opposite corners to form an “X“ in the coating, cut completely thru to the base metal. After expo
5、sure, remove panels and rinse as specified. Using a probe, determine the distance from the scribed line that the coating has become loose due to undercutting by the salt spray. No undercutting allowed. 3.1.3 Heat Resistance Apply 5 drops of battery acid (sp. gr. 1.270 approx.) randomly on the face of coated panel. Place in mechanical convection oven at 36 +/- 3 C for 8 h. There shall be no deterioration of the vinyl coating other than modest loss of color and gloss under the acid drops.
