SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a dispersion of solid lubricants in an organic resin-solvent system adhered to a metal surface by thermosetting res

3、in. It applies a coating which has long corrosion resistance, high load carrying capability and low coefficient of friction on a metal surface. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally as a lubricant used to coat starter solenoid shafts. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR

4、 PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 APPEARANCE Dark Grey, liquid 3.5 VISCOSITY, Zahn Cup Nozzle #4, 65 - 85 s (ASTM D 1200, 25 +/- 1 C) 3.6 NON-VOLATILE CONTENT 28.3 - 34.3% (AST

5、M D 2834, 1.5 h) 3.7 PARTICLE SIZE, max 15 micrometre (Coulter Counter) 3.8 FLASH POINT, Closed Cup, min 22 C (ASTM D 56) 3.9 PREPARATION OF TEST PANELS (ASTM D 609) Use phosphate treated steel substrate panels or parts. 3.9.1 Cure Temperature 220 +/- 10 C 3.9.2 Cure Time 1 h 3.9.3 Film Thickness 8

The film shall show no softening, peeling, blistering, chipping or loss of adhesion. 3.11 COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION, max 0.04 (ASTM D 2714) Finished LWF-1 specimens, ring and block, are tested under the following condition: Rotation mode, load 2860 N, s

8、peed 72 rpm. Measure coefficient of friction after running in, 60 minutes. 3.12 WEAR LIFE, Cycle, min 340,000 (ASTM D 2714) Finished LWF-1 specimens, ring and block, are tested under the following condition: Rotation mode, 2860 N, speed 72 rpm. Finished metal parts or test panels shall show no evidence of film failure or loss of adhesion. 3.14 RESISTANCE TO ASTM OIL NO. 3 (ASTM D 471, 25 +/- 2 C for 72 h) Finished parts or test panels show no evide

10、nce of film failure or loss of adhesion. 3.15 HYDRAULIC BRAKE FLUID RESISTANCE (ASTM D 471/SAE J1703 at 70 +/- 2 C for 72 h) Finished metal parts or test panels shall show no evidence of film failure or loss of adhesion. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information below is provided for clarification and

11、assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 Supplement A may be used for additional information required for initial qualification. 5.2 This material could be used by air curing for a minimum of 6 hours. 5.3 Recommended service temperature range is - 70 to + 380 C.
