4、rdener. 3.5.6 Dry Hiding Power, max. 20 um (FLTM BI 158-01) 3.5.7 Storage Stability: 90 days During a storage of 90 days between 5 and 32 C temperature the material as supplied shall not settle up or cake insoluble. After the storage the material must pass all specification requirements. 3.6 PREPARA

5、TION OF TEST PANELS 3.6.1 Substrate Polycarbonate, Polyurethane, Polyamide, Polypropylene or ABS as specified on Engineering Drawing. All tests shall be performed on panels with a smooth, ungrained surface. 3.6.2 Plastic Preparation The surface to be painted shall be cleaned by an acceptable process

6、, e.g. power wash, to remove mold releasing agents, fingerprints, oils, dirt and moisture. Note: PP/EPDM plastics must either be primed with an adhesion primer or pretreated (flame process, etc.) prior to painting to provide sufficient paint adhesion. 3.6.3 Primer application (see also 5.2) Dry film

7、 thickness: 25 - 35 micrometre; Flash off time: 3 minutes; Baking: 20 minutes at 80 C (minimum Object temperature). 3.6.4 Top coat application Application of currently used two pack high flexible top coat systems, filmthickness and baking as specified in the relevant material specification. 3.6.5 Ag

8、eing Test panels prepared under this specification shall be aged for at least 168 h at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 h at 45 +/- 1 C before testing for resistance properties. 3.7 APPEARANCE (Primer only) 3.7.1 Color light grey (FLTM BI 109-01) 3.7.2 Gloss, min 40% (FLTM BI 110-01, 60) ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIF

9、ICATION ESK-M6J147-A Copyright 2012, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 3 of 3 3.8 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES Test Panels and plastic parts painted according to para 3.6 of this specification shall meet all requirements of performance specifications WSK-M2P145-A and WSK-M2P164-A. 3.9 COLD IMPACT RESISTAN

10、CE (Initial Approval only) Falling dart test at -25 C (equipment available in Materials & Fastener Quality Engineering laboratory, Merkenich) or as specified on Engineering Drawing. The painted part shall show no breaks, cracks, chipping or other failures. The topcoat shall not deteriorate the cold

11、impact resistance of the unpainted part. 3.10 QUALITY The primer must be adaptable for application in accordance with the appropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification. The primer must be compatible with all related materials, e.g. topcoat, substrate, adhesives, etc. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION Th

12、e information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 DENSITY OF THE DRY FILM see Initial Sample +/- 0.02 kg/L (FLTM BI 154-02) 5.2 FILM THICKNESS The film thickness necessary in production is depending on the surface of the par

13、t and may be increased to maximum 80 micrometre. Flash off time as well as baking must be adapted to a higher film build under the relevant process conditions. 5.3 MATERIAL REFERENCE All related materials used for approval of primer according to this specification, e.g. topcoat system, thinner, hardener and plastic substrate as well as the application parameter shall be noted in the Initial Sample Report of the primer.
