1、 FECDS F-7 Engineering CAD Selection and Identification of Significant and Critical Characteristics, it is preferred that the critical characteristic be applied to the entire fastener joint as opposed to the Utility fastener itself. For example, an inverted delta torque requirement does not mandate

2、the use of an inverted delta utility fastener. The Inverted Delta symbol is used to identify Critical Characteristics on parts, see Standard E-2. MET as an example, an assembly containing a steel bolt with a rubber grommet or an assembly of a steel bolt with a stainless steel retainer. In these inst

3、ances, the drawing shall indicate the individual items in some manner and include a Fastener Asy Finish note added to the Mandatory Notes such as: 3.12.2 FASTENER ASY FINISH NOTE SURFACE FINISH APPLIES TO PART A ONLY. PART B IS UNFINISHED NOTE: Part A and Part B must be identified in the view(s) of

5、re therefore required to comply with a color chart or master sample, they shall be released with the suffix SSW. When Standard or Utility fastener is used in a customer appearance application such as a visible vehicle interior, Design Center Approval may be required. In such instances the Appearance

6、 Item note may apply if Design Center approval is required and the note should be added to the Mandatory Notes, see Standard E-1. 3.13.1 APPEARANCE ITEM NOTE, See Standard E-1. 3.14 UTILITY and STANDARD FASTENER CAD DATA It is the responsibility of the authoring activity of a Utility Fastener (W7) t

7、o ensure that the CAD files of the data and drawing are stored and managed using an appropriate Ford Motor Company CAD data repository such as TCe, See Standard G-1. CAD data of Standard Fasteners (W5) can be found in the Ford Motor Company CAD repository such as TCe, and shall be managed as would any other CAD file, see Standard G-1.
