2、TEXTILE MATERIALS Application This procedure is used to test for residual asphalt and similar objectionable contaminants in textile trim materials which may cause staining of other trim components by being sewn or bonded or by mere contact. Apparatus Required Fadeometer As specified in FLTM BN 101-0
3、1. Plates Two 100 x 100 x 6 mm (nominal thickness) glass or aluminum plates. Weights To provide a total load of 1 kg when placed with the plate on the test assembly. Refer to Industrial Hygiene for health and safety comments. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on m
6、aterial conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure Method A 1. Cut two 100 x 100 mm sections of the nainsook test fabric and two 150 x 150 mm
7、sections of the test specimen. 2. Place one test specimen on each of the two plates and cover with a section of nainsook. (The test specimen - plate - nainsook combination is referred to as a test assembly.) Note: Perform steps 3 - 7 in a ventilation hood. 3. Saturate one test assembly with naphtha
8、and the other with toluol. 4. Place a plate on top of each assembly. 5. Place sufficient weight (when added to the weight of the top plate) to equal a total load of 1 kg and allow to stand for one h at 23 +/- 2 C. 6. Remove weights and plates. 7. Examine each section of nainsook for staining as requ

Place a sample of trim cover material over a test specimen of padding to simulate its actual application in the vehicle. 2. Place th
10、e assembly into the Fadeometer with the face side of the trim cover material towards the light source. 3. Expose for 120 Standard Fade Hours (black panel temperature of 63 +/- 2 C) as per FLTM BN 101-01. 4. Examine the face side of the trim cover material for any stain and report as required by the material standard. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
