2、where required by the Engineering specification, to wash and/or polish paint test panels after exposure to simulated or natural weathering. Apparatus Required Washing Machine Easy “Spindrier“, Model SDE or equivalent, equipped with specimen holder. Soap M1034 (Peerless Chemical Co.). Ford Washing an
3、d Polishing Apparatus - TPE 3297 Foam Pad ESB - M4D113 - A - 3/8 inch thick cut to size of polishing head. Polish Rotunda (CA - 195 19 - A) - R 122 A. Dipping Tray 4 x 8 x 1 inch flat aluminum tray. Felt Pad Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material cond
4、itioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humid ity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 5、t Removal 1. Place exposure panels to be washed in specimen holder in washing machine. Fill machine to “water level“ mark with ta p water at 100 F. Add 50 cc of M1034 liquid soap. (12 panels may be washed simultaneously.) 2. Wash panels for 5 minutes with normal agitator cycle. 3. Remove panels, rin
6、se in clear tap water and dry off with clean compressed air. Washing 1. Immerse foam washing pad, 3/8 inch thick ESB - M4D113 - A, in dipping tray filled with tap water. A new pad should be used after 1000 panels have been washed. 2. Remove pad and insert in pad holder of washing and polishing appar
7、atus. 3. Insert panel in washing and polishing apparatus per Figure 1. Apply 2 lb. weight as illustrated. Set time for 20 strokes and wash panel. 4. Remove panel and dry off with clean compressed air. Polishing 1. Immerse foam polishing pad, 3/8 inch thick ESB - M4D113 - A, in tray filled wi th a mi
8、xture of polish and one part tap water. A new polishing pad should be used after 1000 panels have been polished. 2. Remove pad and insert in pad holder of washing and polishing apparatus. 3. Insert panel in washing and polishing apparatus per Fig ure 2. Apply 2 lb. weight as illustrated. Set timer f
9、or 20 strokes and polish panel. Remove panel and allow polish on panel to air dry. 4. Remove dried polish by a gentle wiping action, using a felt pad. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment re ferenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining
