Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % re
6、lative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure Sample Preparation 1. Prepare paint panels per FLTM BI 103-02 or BI 120-01 or as indicated in the applicable engineering specification. 2. Wash the panels (if soiled) wi
7、th neutral liquid soap and water, rinse with deionized or distilled water and blow off with air. Standardization 1. Release the standby button and allow meter to warm up for 15 minutes. 2. Screw the three alignment posts into the port collar. 3. Place the optical sensor in cradle, with specimen port
8、 facing upward. 4. Place the primary standard on the specimen port with the beam directional arrows in the same direction. 5. Press the RS button on the signal processor (all other buttons must be in the released position). 6. Using the adjustment knob on the optical sensor, adjust until the digital
9、 readout shows the maximum RS reading. 7. Use the standardize control knob on the processor to adjust the digital display in order to read the calibrated RS value of the primary standard. 8. Press the D.I. button. If the value displayed is not within +/- 1.0 of the assigned D.I. value, refer to Atta

Press the D.I. button. If the value displayed is not within +/- 3.0 of the calibrated D.I. of the secondary standard,
12、 refer to Attachment A. Measuring D.I. - Test Panels 1. Place the top of the test panel on the specimen port against the alignment posts. 2. Press the D.I. button. 3. Adjust for the maximum positive display reading by means of the knob at the end of the optical sensor. 4. Read the D.I. value on the
13、display and record. 5. Place the bottom of the test panel on the specimen port and repeat steps 1 through 4. 6. The D.I. for the panel shall be the average of the readings from the top and bottom of the test panel. Measuring D.I. - Vehicles 1. Remove the alignment posts from the optical sensor viewi

18、trumentation 1. The instrument should be cleaned regularly internally and externally. 2. It is best to keep the standby button engaged when the instrument is not in use in order to improve stability of the instrument, decrease the warm-up period necessary before beginning measurements and extend lam

Wash with soap and warm water, rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Obtain a new standard if questionable readings a
