3、uspend samples while weighing Stainless steel wire Condenser or glass tubing 30 inches long, 1/2 inch 0.D Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 OC and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 2

Procedure Carefully cut a section of the material
5、to be tested away from the metal lip of the oil seal. A section 2 inches long wherever possible shall be used and sample weight shall be 0.40 g min. A composite sample of two or more pieces may be used. Weigh sample in air. Note weight as W1. Place sample on hook, dip in alcohol which will act as a
6、wetting agent and suspend sample in water. Take care that air bubbles do not adhere to the samples. Note weight as W,. (Deduct weight of hook.) Remove samples from water, dip in alcohol and blot dry with filter paper or absorbent towel. Suspend each sample by means of a stainless steel wire in each
7、of three test fluids. When composite samples are used, glass beads should be used to separate the pieces: (a) Silicone DC 550-R (b) Plexo1 201 (c) ASTM #3 Oil Samples are to be heat aged at the specified fme and temperature as outlined in the relative engineering specification. At the end of the req
8、uired immersion period, remove the sample tubes from the heating source and allow them to cool to 72 +/- 5 OF. Samples may be cooled by transferring them to a cool, clean portion of the test fluid for 30 - 60 minutes. Dip sample quickly in M5B58 at 72 +/- 5 OF and blot lightly with filter paper. Rep
