2、EALER TAPE Application This procedure is used to determine the compressibility and recovery behavior of bonding tape. The force required to compress a specified amount of tape , and the amount of recovery is determined after specified periods of time. Apparatus and Materials Required Testing Machine
3、 Capable of measuring the required pressures. It is suggested that an automatic compression type machine be used with a minor sc ale of approximately 0 - 3.0 kg and a major scale of 0 - 250 kg. It must be capable of a cross - head speed of 50 mm/minute. Stopwatch Thickness Gauge Capable of measuring
4、 thicknesses up to 25 +/ - 0.02 mm. The gauge must be equipped to provide a 0.5 kg l oad over a contact area of approximately 10 cm 2 . Glass Plates Flat polished plate glass 75 mm x 75 mm x 6 mm. Test Specimens Samples of tape 75 mm long with a cross section as specified on the relevant Engineering
5、 Drawing. Samples must have a uniform cr oss -section over the entire 75 mm length. Five specimens are required for this test. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relat ive humid

Raise the cross - head until the return dial indicates precisely 3.0 mm and again set the return dial to z ero. At the same time set the “Return - Stop“ s
9、witch to “Stop“. Note: The completion of Step 4 fixes the control over the compressed tape height at 3.0 mm and must be repeated for each test. Once the adjustment is completed the machine cross - head is halted in compression at 3.0 mm plus the combined thickness of the glass plates. 5. Set the cro

At the end of the minute raise the cross - head and remove the sample taking care not to disturb it unnecessarily. Do not stop the stopwatch. 11.
