、 production application of automotive windshield sealers to determine whether the sealer will stain headlining material by plasticizer migration. Apparatus Required Mechanical Convection Oven Capable of maintaining a constant temperature of 102 +/- 2 C. Pinch Weld Flange Refer to Figure 1. Materials
、 Required Headlining Material 100 mm wide x 150 mm long; material as required by the applicable Engineering Material Specification. Paper Masking Tape Weatherstrip 100 mm long; material as required by the applicable Engineering Material Specification. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values
、 indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 5、d Global Technologies, Inc. Procedure 1. Fill the rubber channel of the weatherstrip which fits over the pinch weld flange with the sealer under test. Refer to Figure 1. 2. Drape the 100 mm section of the headlining material over the pinch weld flange as shown in Figure 1 and secure with the masking
、 tape. The tape should contact just enough of the edge of the headlining to secure it to the metal flange. 3. Assemble the flange and the headlining to the rubber weatherstrip by fully inserting the flange into the channel of the weatherstrip containing the sealer. 4. Place the assembly into the ove
、n at 102 +/- 2 C for 70 h. Allow the headlining to hang freely from the assembly. Evaluation 1. Remove the assembly from the oven and cool to 23 +/- 2 C. 2. Examine and report any staining of the headlining resulting from plasticizer migration. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities. FORD LABORATORY TEST METHOD BV 107-03 Page 3 of 3 Copyright 2000, Ford Global Technologies, Inc.
