2、he heat and cold aging characteristics of windshield sealers. Apparatus Required Mechanical Convection Oven Capable of maintaining a constant temperature of 100 +/- 2 C. Cold Box Capable of maintaining a constant temperature of - 40 +/- 2 C. Rubber Windshield Weatherstrip Current production 250 mm i

3、n length. Gloves Heavy cloth gloves for use in cold box. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same con

4、ditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Fill the glass channels of 2 weatherstrip samples completely with the sealer to be tested. 2. Expose both specimens in the oven for 96 h at 100 +/- 2 C at an angle of 60 to the horizontal. (See sketch) 3. Remove both specimens from the oven and cool t

Examine and report on this specimen as required by the relevant engineering specification. 6. Expose the second test specimen

6、 in the cold box at - 40 +/- 2 C for 24 h. 7. While still in the cold box twist the ends of specimen through 45 relative to each other. 8. Examine and report on this specimen as required by the relevant engineering specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly.
