Caustic Soda 10 % Protective Goggles Forceps Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative
、humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure A-1 Preparation of the Baked Film (inert to caustic soda) 1. The paint must be reduced to the proper spraying viscosity with the appropriate thinner as designated by the materi
、al specification. Viscosity is measured in accordance with FLTM BI 111-01. 2. Tape on to three panels aluminum foil 40 x 40 mm to 60 x 60 mm. 3. Spray and bake the assemblies according to FLTM BI 103-02, Method E. Note: If different curing cycles, e.g. “standard and overbake“ are required, three ass
、emblies each must be prepared. 4. After cooling to 23 +/- 2 C separate the painted aluminum foil from the panels. 5. Dissolve the aluminum foil from the paint film by immersion into caustic soda solution under a fume hood. This procedure will be accelerated by heating the caustic soda to 50 C max. (
、Do not use a flame.) CAUTION: Wear goggles. 6. Remove the paint film after complete removal of aluminum from the caustic soda solution, rinse with distilled water and blot dry, final drying for 20 minutes at 45 C in the oven. 9、Global Technologies, Inc. A-2 Determination of the Specific Density No contamination of the paint film is permissible or inaccurate results will be obtained. 1. Determine the weight of the paint film to the nearest 0.1 mg (W1). 2. Determine the weight of the wire for suspending the film to the neare
、st 0.1 mg (W3). 3. Determine the weight of the paint film totally immersed in distilled water suspended on the wire at a temperature of 20 +/- 2 C (W2) 4. Calculate the specific density of the paint film to the nearest 0.001 g/cm3 as follows: Specific density (g/cm3) = W 1 (W1 - (W2 W3) Note: Indivi
、dual results for the same curing cycle must agree within +/- 0.005 g/cm3, otherwise the test must be repeated. Result: The final result is expressed as the average of the individual cure cycles tested. B-1 Preparation of the Baked Film (reactive to caustic soda) 1. The paint must be reduced to the p

、Determination of Specific Density No contamination of the paint film is permissible or inaccurate results will be obtained. 1. Determine the weight of the painted aluminum foil to the nearest 0.1 mg (WAL+P1). 2. Determine the weight of the wire for suspending the painted aluminum foil to the nearest
、 0.1 mg (W3). 3. Determine the weight of the painted aluminum foil totally immersed in distilled water suspended on the wire at a temperature of 20 +/- 2 C (WAL+P2). The water is diluted with a small amount of wetting agent. 4. Calculate the specific density of the paint film to the nearest 0.001 g/cm3 as follows: Specific Density (g/cm3) = W AL + P1 - W AL1 (WAL + P1 WAL1 ) - (WAL + P1 W3) - (WAL2 W3) Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly.
