SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a semigloss black, air drying paint suitable for application on automotive finishes. 2. APPLICATION The material is used as specified by the responsible
3、 Engineering System for decorative painting of interior and restricted exterior body areas non-visible or partially visible e.g wheel house, lower flange of rocker panel. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Comp
4、anys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 COMPOSITION 3.1.1 Vehicle Physical drying synthetic resins, if necessary in combination with nitrocellulose and suitable plasticizers. 3.1.2 Toxicity Contents of toxic components, e.g. benzene, chlorinated hydrocarbons, lead c
5、ompounds etc., shall conform to the safety regulations currently prevailing in the plant and/or country where the material shall be used. The use of cadmium is prohibited. 3.2 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 3.2.1 Non-Volatile (FLTM BI 102-01) According to initial sample report +/- 1.0%. 3.2.2 Package Viscosity

7、 +/- 0.02 3.2.4 Flash Point The flash point shall conform to the safety regulations applicable to the plant and/or country where the material shall be used. 3.2.5 Compatibility The material must be of such compatibility that it can be reduced with S-M14J19-A (nitro thinner). 3.2.6 Hiding Power Dry (
8、FLTM EU-BI 001-05) Reducer S-M14J19-A Viscosity 20 s FC-4/25 C Complete visual hiding over substrate at a maximum dry film thickness of 10 micrometre. 3.2.7 Shelf Stability During a storage of 3 months at room temperature the material as received shall not gel or liver upon standing and must be free
9、 from settling which cannot be dispersed by normal agitation. The viscosity of the material shall not increase in excess of 40 seconds when tested according to FLTM EU-BI 2-3. 3.3 PREPARATION OF TEST PANELS (FLTM BI 103-02, section Bb) 3.3.1 Stone Peck Protective SK-M99J9587-A/B (If applicable) Afte
10、r electrocoat bake one half of the test panels to be treated as follows: Application of stone peck resistant material SK-M99J9587-A/B to a dry film thickness of approximately 100 +/- 10 micrometer by suitable spray method. After a flash off time of 1 minute spray a full hiding coat (approximately 20
11、 micrometer of SK-M6J9556-A or approved equivalent, spray primer of current production. After 3 minutes flash off time bake according to material specification requirements; further process of top coat application according to FLTM BI 103-02, Method Bb. 13、r of manufacturer supplying to the plant where SK-M1J9561-A is intended for use. 3.3.2.2 S-M32J110-A/111-A/9553-A Silver metallic base coat and clear top coat of that manufacturer supplying to the plant where SK-M1J9561-A is intended for use. 3.3.2.3 Baking conditions for baking enamels according to
14、 3.3.2.1 and 3.3.2.2. For all tests bake according to Material Specification. For gravelometer test prepare one additional panel which has been additionally overbaked for 10 minutes at 140 C metal temperature. 3.3.3 Application of SK-M1J9561-A 1 hour after enamel baked panels are treated as follows:
15、 Dilute SK-M1J9561-A with S-M14J19-A to spray viscosity (20 s FC-4/25 C or as recommended by vendor). Apply material under test to a dry film thickness of 15 20 micrometer, using pneumatic spray equipment. 3.4 AGEING OF TEST PANELS Prior to testing panels, they have to be aged as follows. 3.4.1 Pane

18、.3 Scratch Resistance Test The test shall be conducted similar to the crockmeter test FLTM BN 107-01. Clamp a ball bearing ball (steel) of 10 mm diameter (Ford part number 154.5435) with the prescribed dry cotton fabric under the cylindrical wooden or plastic pin so that the ball is covered smoothly
19、 by the cotton fabric and fixed simultaneously. The specimen shall be placed under the prepared pin. The pin shall be moved 1 time one direction across the test specimen at the rate of approx 100 mm per second. No scratch mark permitted Prior to each test the cotton fabric shall be replaced. 3.6.4 P
20、encil Hardness, min H (FLTM BI 151-01) To be performed on the half of the test panel without SK-M99J9587-A/B Remove pencil graphite with a soft rubber prior to estimation. 3.6.5 Quality The material shall air dry to a serviceable film showing no craters or pinholes. The material shall have reasonabl
21、e tolerance for cleaning procedures. 3.7 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES 3.7.1 Water Resistance 240 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No blistering, softening or dulling. 23、le Wax and Dewax Materials Application of wax preservative after 6 hours ageing at room temperature and the removal of the preservative after a further 72 hours by any current dewax compound shall have no deleterious effect upon the quality or appearance of the paint film. 3.7.6 Weathering Resistanc
24、e Test panels shall show a minimum degree of fading, chalking, dulling or color change. No increase of brittleness nor loss of adhesion is permitted and the test panel shall be completely free from evidence of cracking, checking, blistering, peeling or rusting after exposure as follows: Florida Expo
25、sure (Miami Area) 12 months at 5 facing south. Evaluation of this test for information only. 3.7.7 Temperature Cycling Test Test panels prepared according to section 3.3 shall be subjected 3 times to the following cycle. 3 h at + 80 +/- 2 C 1 h at room temperature 3 h at - 40 +/- 2 C 1 h at room temperature 16 h + 38 +/- 2 C, 98 +/- 2% relative humidity After last cycle leave test panels at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours prior to evaluation. No cracking or other surface deterioration caused by the material under test. Adhesion must fulfill requirements of section 3.6.2.
