SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a heat resistant colorless clear polyurethane tape single coated by a self adhesive and covered by release paper. 2. 8、pe length maximum 5 mm. 3.10 SOFTENING POINT, min 95 C (ASTM D 816, except specimens per clause 3.6) Test Method: Maintain oven temperature at 50 C for 15 minutes and then increase 2.5 C/5 minute until bond failure. 3.11 PAINTABILITY If required on Engineering drawing The surface shall be dry to tou
9、ch after cooling to room temperature. It shall be free from cracks or bubbles and shall show a uniform closed paint film without staining or discoloration. Test Method: 1) Prepare test panels of 300 x 100 mm according to FLTM BI 120-01 A and C. 2) Bond 250 x 25 mm pieces of tape on the test panels.
10、The mating surfaces must be pressed firmly together to force out trapped air and ensure a good bond. 3) 10 minutes after bonding, coat test assemblies with production epoxy spray primer at a dry film thickness of 0.025 - 0.035 mm. 4) After 10 minutes at room temperature cure specimens separately acc

13、Phase 2 3.12 ABRASION RESISTANCE There shall be no exposed metal area showing after 2000 L min gravel impact. No loss of adhesion on and around the area of stone impact. Test Method: 1) Test panel preparation according to FLTM BI 103-02, Bb and according to clause 3.8, Section 2. 2) After conditioni
14、ng for 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C determine the abrasion resistance according to ASTM D 968, except I.D. of tube 25 mm and at a gravel through-put rate of 30 - 40 liters/hour. For each specimen a 5 liter volume of fresh gravel shall be used. 3) Check for total abrasion resistance and loss of adhesion after
15、“x“ liters gravel impact. Continue abrasion test until exposure of metal area and again check for loss of adhesion. Specimen surface shall be cleaned w
17、ith distilled water once a month. 3.16 HEALTH HAZARDS AND ODOR The material must not contain any ingredients which, under normal production conditions, could lead to health hazards such as skin rash or irritation (dermatitis), irritation of the mucous membrane, difficulties in breathing etc. The mat

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification
19、and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 STORAGE STABILITY (From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company) Minimum 12 months when stored at temperatures below 30 C. The release liner shall remove easily when measured by hand peel examination and shall not change appreciably after 12 months storage below 30 C. (To be certified by supplier on “Initial Sample Report) 5.2 APPLICATION CRITERIA Only apply tape to absolutely clean and dry surface. The adhesive side of the tape shall not be touched or handled, once the release liner has been removed.
