SCOPE The material defined by these specifications is a molded, mildew resistant, non-woven, synthetic resin bonded natural and/or synthetic fiber felt, covered on one side with an air impermeable coating. 2. APPLICATION This part was originally rel
3、eased for sound absorption in the passenger compartment such as C-pillar area upper. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. The material shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 hours at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity pr
4、ior to test and tested under the same conditions. Tests shall be conducted not earlier than 72 hours after manufacture of part. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M9
5、9P1111-A). 3.1 COLOR Any or as specified on Engineering drawing 3.2 THICKNESS 10 +/- 1.5 mm (ASTM C 167, except 15 mm away from the edges) 3.3 DENSITY 60 - 80 kg/m3 (ASTM C 167) 3.4 SPLITTING RESISTANCE, min 1.5 kPa Test Method: (See Figure 1) 1) Three test specimens 30 x 30 mm shall be bonded to tw
6、o specimen holders each and conditioned for 24 hours at room temperature (use adhesive S-M2G4610-A or equivalent). 2) Determine splitting resistance in a tensile testing machine at a rate of pull of 25 mm/minute. 7、trolled Copyright 2006, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 6 3.5 TENSILE STRENGTH AT BREAK, min 10.0 N/cm2 Test Method: 1) Cut test specimens of 15 x 100 mm from finished part. 2) Determine tensile strength with a tensile testing machine. Distance between jaws 50 mm, separation rate of jaws 25
8、mm/minute. 3.6 MILDEW RESISTANCE The material shall be free from mildew and malodour. There shall be no visible changes evident after drying. Test Method: Soak the finished part or appropriate section of material with distilled water in a beaker glass of one liter capacity and cover tightly with a l
9、id. Maintain at a temperature of 35 +/- 2 C for 350 hours. Remove and examine as described above. 3.7 DIMENSIONAL STABILITY The finished part shall show no evidence of delamination, no visible shrinkage or distortion respectively, it shall not warp to an extent that would affect its use in ultimate
10、assembly. Test Method: 1) Expose finished part for 72 hours in an air circulated drying oven maintained at 80 +/- 2 C. 2) Check for dimensional stability after cooling to room temperature. 3.8 ENVIRONMENTAL CYCLING The finished part shall show no evidence of delamination, no visible shrinkage or dis
11、tortion respectively, it shall not warp to an extent that would affect its use in ultimate assembly. Test Method: The finished part shall be subjected 3 times to the following cycle in the sequence indicated below. 3 h at 80 +/- 2 C 1 h at room temperature 3 h at -40 +/- 2 C 1 h at room temperature

13、 Five samples shall be tested from each material under test. Samples for measuring in the small tube shall be die cut from the finished part. If the finished part does not allow the preparation of plane specimens for measuring in the large tube, the supplier is required to provided together with the
14、 Initial Sample Report, specimens of same material and equivalent manufacture used for the finished part. Samples for control and routine checks shall be submitted as required by Quality Control. 3.10 FLAMMABILITY 3.10.1 SK-M99G9519-A No requirement 3.10.2 SK-M99G9519-B (FLTM EU-BN 024-02) Burn Rate
15、, max 100 mm/minute In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn or transmit a flame across their surface, at a rate of more than 100 mm/minute. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of tes
16、ting shall be in accordance with FLTM EU-BN 024-02. 3.11 PERFORMANCE-ENVIRONMENTAL AGEING REQUIREMENT All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated, and exceed a maximum burn rate of 75 mm per minute as specif
17、ied by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 according to the accelerated environmental ageing requirements applicable to the basic material category of this particular specific

Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 024-02, regardless of maximum burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame reta
19、rdant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 applicable to the basic material category of this particular specification. 20、al Technologies, LLC Page 4 of 6 3.12 HEALTH HAZARDS AND ODOR The material must not contain any ingredients (matter) which, under normal production conditions, could lead to health hazards such as skin rash or irritation (dermatitis), irritation of the mucous membranes, difficulties in breathing, et

The material shall be free from objectionable odors both as received and after storage. 3.13 QUALITY The material shall be of uniform quality free from foreign material and properties detrimental to normal production use. It shall not cause excessive soiling of handlers in normal production use.
