SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are solutions of acid catalysts in organic solvents. 2. APPLICATION Acid catalyst SK-M99J9565-B fo
3、r clearcoats according to specification SK-M32J9553-A. The acid catalysts are used to make these topcoats/clearcoats suitable for relatively low baking temperatures. Note: The catalysts shall only be used for topcoats/clearcoats as mentioned above if from the same source and required by the vendor.
4、The amount of addition may vary depending upon the quality of the topcoats/clearcoats specified. It is permitted to use acid catalysts of a source different from the topcoat/clearcoat one if approved by Quality Control and agreed to by the respective vendors. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification r
5、equirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 COMPOSITION 3.1.1 Non-Volatile No chlorinated
6、compounds permitted 3.1.2 Acid Number (ASTM D 1467) According to approved initial sample +/- 5. 3.1.3 Toxicity The material shall not contain toxic components, e.g. lead or lead compounds, benzene, chlorinated hydrocarbons etc., in excess of that permitted by the safety regulations currently prevail
7、ing in the country or plant where the material shall be used. 8、 shall conform to the safety regulations applicable to the plant and/or country where the material shall come into use. 3.3 AMOUNT OF ACID CATALYST NECESSARY The amount of acid catalyst to be added to the enamels mentioned in item 2 is prescribed by each vendor. 3.4 PREPARATION OF TEST PANELS According to FLTM BI 115-02. 3.5 FILM AND RESISTANCE PROPERTIES Film and resistance properties shall be in accordance with the regarding items of the specification mentioned in item 2 of this specification. 3.6 SHELF LIFE Minimum 6 months at 20 - 25 C as supplied in original container.
