PURPOSE This Standard establishes the principles for the Composition of Data Numbers for Manufacturing Engineering, Ford Motor Company,
2、Worldwide. It explains how Numbers are constructed. The system of Manufacturing Data Numbers shall be used to identify Data related to equipment (machines, assemblies, or tooling) and processes used in the manufacturing of vehicles produced by the Ford Motor Company, Worldwide. 1.1. Applicability/Sc
3、ope: This standard applies to, Manufacturing Engineering worldwide, including; Automotive Components Division Powertrain Operations Quality and Process Leadership Vehicle Operations Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Purchasing Visteon. All Data numbers assigned as of this standard publication date
4、shall follow this standard. 1.2. Training : 1.2.1. Shall be managed by each local activity as necessary 2. DEFINITIONS Data The numerical or graphical representation (electronic or manual), which is used to analyze, design or describe both equipment and processes used in the manufacturing of vehicle
5、s. Identical Equipment Duplicate pieces of equipment that are maintained and updated simultaneously throughout Ford Motor Company. Similar Equipment Equipment that is identical when originally received by Ford Motor Company, but has been modified during the life of the equipment. 3. INSTRUCTIONS/REQ
6、UIREMENTS The system of Manufacturing Data Numbers shall be used to identify Data for equipment and processes used in the manufacturing of vehicles produced by the Ford Motor Company, Worldwide. The system is predicated on the significance of a classification number. Printed Copies are Uncontrolled
7、Page 2 of 11 Standard Number w-FX1 Issue Date: 19990331 Global Manufacturing Standards Rev: 20050608 Once a classification number is assigned for a specific function any subsequent identification of parts having the same function shall require the use of the same classification number. Exceptions to
8、 the above occur when: Nomenclature becomes outdated. The function identified is no longer the prime function and retention of the basic number is desired. Each Manufacturing Division or Operation shall be responsible for administering and assigning the Manufacturing Data Numbers. Each piece of manu
9、facturing equipment (including identical equipment) shall be assigned only one Data Number. NOTE: In the event that two different data numbers have been assigned to a piece of manufacturing equipment, the manufacturing number on the data carrying the earliest date takes precedence and the other manu
10、facturing number must be canceled or renumbered. NOTE: Identical equipment shall be assigned one data number. A unique manufacturing Data Number shall be assigned to identify each piece of similar equipment. A unique Data Number shall be assigned to each of the following Layouts (machine, trunking,
11、tool, foundation, and automation) Similar Equipment (machine, transfer line, system, etc. ) Independent assembly drawing of symmetrically opposite tooling. Each type of Circuit diagram (coolant, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, etc.) included in a single machine, or transfer line syste

MANUFACTURING DATA NUMBER CONSTRUCTION A Manufacturing Data Number shall consist of a Prefix, Base, and Suffix. This number is the official identifier of the doc
13、umentation (Drawings, Documents etc.) and the associated equipment or process. Other identifiers may be used, however the official number shall be maintained on documentation. 4.1. Prefix The Prefix shall consist of the Classification number, Classification code, Activity code 4.1.1. Classification
14、Number The classification number shall consist of a three (3) position numeric code. This code identifies the class of tooling or equipment. These codes are shown in Appendix A - Classification Number _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Unique ID code (8 characters) Site Code (4 Ch

This code identifies the operation, division, or activity of the company. These codes are shown in Appendix C Activity Code 4.2. Base : The Base shall be uniquely define
18、d by the Ford local manufacturing area. The base should consist of the site code and unique identification (ID) code. 4.2.1. Site Code The site code shall consist of a four (4) position alpha-numeric code. This code identifies the operation, plant or area that is either; Data Ownership - The individ

The site code shall be the Accounting “Operation Location“ Code for each site. The site c

Note: This is the first field contained in the MEARS draft number. When the code is less than four (4) characters in length it shall be preceded by zero(s) (0) such th
