REQUIREMENTS3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSMaterial suppliers and part producers must conform to Quality SystemRequirements, QS-9000. Material specification requirements a
6、re tobe used for initial quali fication of materials. A Control Plan forong oing production verification is required. This plan must bereviewed and approved by the relevant Ford Materia ls activity and/orFord Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) prior to production partssubmission. Appropriate statis
7、tical tools must be used to analyzepro cess/product data and assure consistent processing of thematerials.Part producers using this material in their products, must use Fordapproved materials and mu st conform to a process control plan whichhas been approved by STA and/or the relevant Materials Acti

15、riginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchcha nges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials En gineering activity of the proposed changesand ob tain the written approval of the
16、 Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS
17、S-M99P9999-A1,unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on theengineering document for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMater ials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materia
18、ls shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaff ected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringact ivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqu alified and authorized repre
19、sentative of the test facility,demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of thisspecification (test results, not nominal values), The material designationand code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fordsengine ering approval of a material will be based on its performance t
20、othis spe cification and on an assessment of suitability for intendedprocesses and/or applications. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.5.
