Note: PP/EPDM plastics must either be primed
5、 with an adhesion primer or pretreated (flame treatment, etc.) prior to painting to provide sufficient paint adhesion. 3.6.2 Plastic Preparation The surface to be painted shall be cleaned by an acceptable process, e.g. power wash, to remove mold releasing agents, fingerprints, oils, dirt and moistur
6、e. 3.6.3 Primer Surfacer (if required) Application of a primer surfacer, film thickness and baking as specified in the relevant material specification. 3.6.4 Basecoat Application of current production basecoat Dry film thickness as required in material specification Flash off time: 5 minutes 3.6.5 C
7、learcoat Wet on wet application of two pack high flexible clearcoat Dry film thickness: 35 - 40 micrometre Flash off time: 5 minutes at room temperature Baking in combination with solvent based basecoats: 35 minutes at 80 C or 25 minutes at 90 C. 10、 Panels and plastic parts painted according to para 3.6 of this specification shall meet all requirements of performance specification WSS-M2P181-A. 3.10 QUALITY The clearcoat must be adaptable for application in accordance with the appropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification. The clearcoat
11、 must be compatible with all related materials. 3.11 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved under this
12、specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon notification of the Company, further instructions will
13、be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data and samples demonstrating compliance to this specification, if requested. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification for direct supply to the Company must have prior approval. Certain materi
15、als subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. These include materials critical to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility requirements or contractual agreements. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expressio
16、n of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification. 5.
