、erial comprisedof cellulose fibers and nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR).2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used for gasketshinge tailgate and roof frame.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd
、Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord
、 Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All s
、amples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSPrior to testing the materials shall be conditio ned for 4 h at 23 +/-2 C i n a closed chamber containing anhydrous calcium chloride as ad
、e siccant. The air in the chamber shall be circulated by gentlemechanical agitation. Specimens shall then be tr ansferred immediatelyto a controlled humidity room and conditioned fo r at least 20 h at 23+/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity. All tests shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM F 1
、04 Type 3mater ial unless otherwise specified. The requirements of thisspecifi cation are valid for gasket material of 0.2 to 1.0 mmthickness. Test specimens are to be selected from finished gasketswhen practicable.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONWSK-M8G234-AWP 3948-b Page 2 of 3 3.4 ORIGINAL PROP
