REQUIREMENTS3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSMaterial suppliers and part producers must conform to Quality SystemRequirements, QS-9000. Material specificat
3、ion requirements are to beused for initial qualification of materials. A Control Plan forongoing production verification is required. This plan must bereviewed and approved by the relevant Ford Materials activity and/orFord Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) prior to production partssubmission. App
4、ropriate statistical tools must be used to analyzeprocess/product data and assure consistent processing of thematerials.Part producers using this material in their products, must use Fordapproved materials and must conform to a process control plan whichhas been approved by STA and/or the relevant M
5、aterials Activity.3.2 FINISHED PART (Substrate Rockwell “C“ 38 min.)For initial approval and at intervals established by Quality Control.3.2.1 The coating shall be uniform in color, hiding power andcoverage and free of obvious imperfections as determined byunaided visual examination. The coating sha

(orifice size 0.75 mm).3.2.4 Hardness 1900 min HV 10(ISO 6507-1)Test Method:Hardness to be determined on a suitable location on thefinished part wherever possible. However, if this is notfeasible, a test piece plat
8、ed under the same conditions asthe component may alternatively be used. If required toobtain valid hardness readings on thinly plated parts, thetest piece may be left in the process to increase coatingdepth.3.3 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent i
9、nall characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to
10、 meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted w
11、ith the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMaterials defined by this specification must have prior approval by
12、 theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a co
13、mpleted copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstratingfull compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, andtest specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amaterial will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Uponapproval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.
