SCOPE The materials defined by this specification is a bulked continuous filament (BCF) nylon, cut pile carpets, tufted into a synthetic primary foundation. It is then precoated and laminated to a barrier material for improved
3、fit and acoustical properties. 2. APPLICATION These materials were released originally for carpets used for full floor application as part of the Carpet Construction Strategy. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabricated)
4、 shall meet all requirements of the WSS-M8P16-A performance specification for full floor applications. Must also meet the Sound and Heat SDS. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Mat
5、erials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SAMPLE SELECTION All evaluations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior to any subsequent operations, such as reheating or molding. 3.3 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center ma
6、ster sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 7、 METHOD OF DYEING Solution dyed 3.6 CONSTRUCTION 3.6.1 Pile Yarn (ASTM D 1577) 105 - 115 tex t0 (nylon, crimped textured, bulked continuous filament, 1.0 1.5 tex). 3.6.2 Pile Count (ASTM D 5793) Rows 48.0/100 mm min. Stitches 51.0/100 mm min. Rows and stitches per 100 mm shall be based on an average
8、 count on a 254 mm length of carpet. 3.6.3 Foundation Materials Primary (Tufting Foundation) 100% Polyester or 75%/ 25% PET/PA6 *As specified on the Approved Source List. 9、 pre-coat shall form a continuous and uniform coating over the back of the carpet so that all pile fibers are covered. The precoat shall be thoroughly melted and shall maintain its ability to lock in the pile fibers in the end-item, molded carpet assembly. The precoat shall thoroughly saturate the b
10、ase of the pile fiber bundles to ensure adequate tuft lock.
