SCOPE. This CID covers the general requirements for lightweig
2、ht type, fifty (50) millivolt (mV) external, instrument shunts, to divert current away from sensitive electrical equipment, by means of an electrical path with low impedance and high heat dissipation. Shunts covered by this CID are intended for commercial/industrial applications. 2. CLASSIFICATION/P
3、ART OR IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (PIN). The following part or identification numbering procedure is for government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor. This CID uses a classification system, which is included in the PIN as shown in the following example (see 7.1). AA55524 /

Instrument shunts supplied to this CID shall be as specified on the applicable CID specification sheet. 3.2 CID specification sheet.
5、The family of Instrument shunts shall be in accordance with the requirements specified herein and the applicable CID specification sheet. In the event of a conflict between this general CID and the applicable CID specification sheet, the latter shall govern. 3.3 Marking. Instrument shunts supplied t
6、o this CID shall be marked with the manufacturers standard commercial PIN, mV rating, and current rating, as specified on the applicable CID sheet (see 6.1). Instrument shunts shall be processed in such a manner as to be uniform in quality and shall be free from other defects that will affect life, serviceability, or appearance. 4. R
11、EGULATORY REQUIREMENTS The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) (see 7.4 for copies). 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The products pro
12、vided shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require pr
13、oof of such conformance. 5.2 Market acceptability (MA). The following market acceptance criteria are necessary to document the quality of the product to be provided under this CID: a. The company producing the item must have been producing a product meeting the requirements of this CID for at least
14、2 years. 6. PACKAGING. 6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. Preservation, packing, and marking (see 3.3) shall be as specified in the contract or order. 7. NOTES. 7.1 Part or Identification Number (PIN). The PIN should be used for Government purposes to buy commercial products to this CID. See se
15、ction 2 for PIN format example. 7.1.1 Style and type designation cross-reference. Shunt cross-reference is specified in the applicable CID sheet. 7.1.2 Supersession data.
