SCOPE This
2、 specification defines the performance requirements for sewing threads used in functional and decorative purposes for interior trim vehicle components. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used in sewing operations in the manufacture of interior trim vehicle compone
3、nts. Table 1 indicates recommended usage per thread size (Tex/Metric-M) and fiber content. Other applications not listed in this table will be considered after evaluation by Materials Engineering based on the proposed use. Nylon is the recommended fiber content. Certain regions (for example China) m
4、ay require the use of polyester due to fiber availability. Polyester thread will be required for areas of high UV exposure such as Instrument Panels (IPs) for decorative stitching. WSS-M8P25-C contains the typical lubricant on the thread as selected by the thread supplier. WSS-M8P25-D is produced dr

REQUIREMENTS Threads to be used in the application of serging and embroidery for floor mats must meet WSS-M8P22-A, Performance, Floor Mat, Serge and Embroidery Thread. In addition, specific material specification WSB-M15H6
6、4-A/latest will need to be met based on application use. 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The li

Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. Drawing call-outs shall state Thread Type
17、Designation and Size. Examples would be: WSS-M8P25-A/N90, WSS-M8P25-A/Tex 90/Nylon or WSS-M8P25-A/M30/Nylon Refer to Table 1 for Thread Type Designations. N90= Nylon, Tex90/M30. 4.1 Purchase departments will ensure that the material defined in this specification and shipped to any one assembly plant
18、 will be produced by one supplier only. In the event of a Global Program or Regional duplication, each regional location of the supplier for this specification must provide a construction package and be approved to meet this specification. 4.2 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of the
19、ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating fu
20、ll compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Con
21、trol Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.3 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect t
22、he materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SR
