Jatkowski Controlled document at www.MATS Copyright 2018, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 1 of 9 PERFORMANCE, FLEXIBLE POLYMERIC FILM, WSS-M8P3-F1 INTERIOR, SUPPORTED, STANDARD TOP COAT PERFORMANCE, FLEXIBLE

、POLYMERIC FILM, INTERIOR, WSS-M8P3-F2 SUPPORTED, DENIM DYE BARRIER TOP COAT 1. SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for interior supported polymeric films. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for materials used as interior trim coverings for seat, door

、panels, consoles, IP mid and lower, and armrests. WSS-M8P3-F1 is defined as flexible polymeric film for interior use with standard topcoat that meets haptic and performance specification requirements. WSS-M8P3-F2 is defined as flexible polymeric film for interior use with the additive to meet denim

、dye barrier requirements while maintaining haptic and performance specification requirements. This suffix level of specification (F1/F2) will go into effect for any new construction and color approvals for MY production 2022. All other model years prior to 2022 were approved under the E suffix and w

、ill be deemed carry-over for construction and color if there are no changes. New colors for model years prior to MY 2022 on already approved leather/grain combinations but a new color is introduced, this new color must meet the F1/F2 suffix for color properties. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES

、This specification is performance based and does not have approved sources. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values are based on material conditioned for not less than 24 h prior to testing in a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Testing of the materia

、l should occur in the conditioning environment or soon after removal. 3.3 CONSTRUCTION All construction information must be supplied on the Material Supplier Specification Information Sheet (Appendix A) and must be included in the construction submission package. Contact Materials Engineering for an

、 electronic copy. 3.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the face flexible polymeric film shall meet all requirements of the applicable M2F material specification. Seat trim cover assemblies or interior trim panels employing these materials must also meet the eng

、ineering requirements of the related Ford Motor Company performance specifications such as: ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION WSS-M8P3-F1/F2 Copyright 2018, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 9 WSS-M15P45-C/latest WSS-M8P30-A/latest This performance specification contains minimum requirements.

、 The materials specification shall take precedence over the performance specification for any requirement that differs from the performance specification. 3.5 SEATING VINYL TRIM FEASIBILITY Seating vinyls satisfying this specification must pass the Interior Seating Trim Cover Phase II process. Refer

、 to the Regional Core Seat Engineering Team for the Process Guidelines and Requirements. 3.6 TEST PLAN Unless otherwise directed by Materials Engineering, all initial evaluation and testing shall be conducted as flat stock. See Table 1 for construction and color approval test requirements 3.7 APPEAR

、ANCE The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Corporate Design master sample. 3.8 VEHICLE USAGE DEFINITIONS For seating application, testing and evaluation must comply with the following vehicle call outs defined per category: Passenger Vehicles include platforms for cars, SUVs, and C

、UVs, such as but not exclusive to Focus, Mondeo, Fusion, Ka, Ecosport, Expedition, and Edge. Commercial and Truck include platforms for trucks, taxi, cargo vans such as but not exclusive to F-150, Transit, Ranger, Police, and Taxi. 3.9 FOGGING (PHOTOMETRIC) (SAE J1756, 3 h at 100 C heating, 21 C Coo
