2、o & Technology. 1. PURPOSE This standard specifies the ESTA cleaning thinner for cleaning of apparatus for color change in paint shop. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to cleaning of paints that are remained in the pipe and spray machines such as electro static bell, VOJOUFSSVQUJCMF spray gun or manua
3、l spray gun etc., after spraying of undiluted paint in paint shop. 3. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Mixture with organic solvent 4. QUALITIES 4.1. General qualities 4.1.1. Prohibited substances : Benzene, chlorinated hydrocarbons. 4.1.2. Appearance : It shall show no signs of pollution by foreign matters such
4、 as cohesive matters and moisture when visually inspected, and the color shall be colorless and transparent 4.1.3. Workability : It shall pose no difficulty in the working process due to bad odor and has excellent cleaning for each paint in working process . 4.2. Performance : When tested to clause
5、7, the test results shall meet the required physical properties in clause 6.1. 5. TEST CONDITIONS 5.1. Standard state of test place 5.1.1. In principle, test shall be conducted at a temperature of 202 and humidity of 655%. 5.1.2. Otherwise, temperature and humidity shall be recorded in the test repo
6、rt. 5.2. Conditions of test sample and paints The panel shall be cut a fixed size from cold-rolled carbon steel sheets, the undiluted paint shall be performed with the paint and under conditions currently used in the paint shop. 6. Requirements of working process 6.3.1. Workability : . It shall be good workability when cleaning of paints that are remained in the
16、 electro static bell, spray gun and pipe, and It shall pose no difficulty in the working process due to bad odor. 6.3.2. Dilution, solubility and compatibility : A little remained cleaning thinner can be diluted by diluted paints(Primer / Solid / Two coat / Clear), however, the properties of materia
17、l shall be no abnormality. 6.3.3. Cleaning performance : It shall be good cleaning performance for each diluted paint(Primer/Solid/Two coat/Clear). 6.4. Additional requirements 6.4.1. Storage : It shall be kept at +1525, and dry place with well-ventilated and apart from heating source or direct ray
18、of light. 6.4.2. Delivery : Delivery may be established by agreement between purchaser and supplier. 7. TEST METHODS 7.1. Test methods 7.1.1. Preparation of test solution and test sample (1) Preparation of test solution : The primer, solid, two coat and clear undiluted paints shall be taken more tha
19、n 300L of paints under conditions currently used in the paint shop, and put it into cleaned beaker. (2) Preparation of test sample 1) Prepare the 100 X 250X size of cold-rolled carbon steel sheets. 2) Clean the test sample using brush with solvent, and dry it. 3) Prepare the test sample with pre-con
20、ditioning and Electro-deposition at Electro-deposition line in paint shop. 7.1.2. Color (1) Purpose : This test is to decide color of thinner. (2) Test method 1) Maintain test solution at 202, and inspect test solution in the vessel visually. 2) There shall be free from suspended matter and mechanic
21、al impurities, shall be transparent when visual inspection. 7.1.3. Odor (1) Purpose : This test is to decide odor of thinner. (2) Test method 1) Maintain test solution at 202, and inspect test solution in the vessel sensuously. 2) There shall be no severe odor when sensuous inspection. EDS-M-8718EST

Specific gravity (1) Purpose : This test is to measure specific gravity of thinner. (2) Test apparatus 1) Gravimeter 2) Measuring cylinder (3) Test method 1) Maintain test
23、 solution at 202, and fill test solution with measuring cylinder transparent-scaled 2) Put Gravimeter and inspect the scale of the meeting point between Gravimeter and surface of test solution at a straight line. 3) The average shall be 0.8460.02 when measuring 3 times. 7.1.5. Viscosity (1) Purpose
24、: This test is to measure viscosity of thinner. (2) Test apparatus 1) RVTD type of Brookfield viscometer (Spindle #1/RPM 100) 2) Beaker(500L ) (3) Test method 1) Adjust test solution to 202, and fill the 400L of test solution with beaker(500L ). 2) Insert Spindle #1 into Brookfield viscometer, set s
25、urface of test solution by indication line with a straight line, and measure viscosity at a rate of RPM 100. 3) Record value of viscosity under stabilized condition, the average shall be 105cps when measuring 3 times. 7.1.6. Flash point (1) Purpose : This test is to measure flash point of thinner. (
26、2) Test apparatus 1) Flash point tester 2) Warming water 3) Thermometer (-5+110) (3) Test method 1) Install the flash point tester horizontally indoors with little airflow and partition. 2) For warming water, use water with temperature lower than flash point of test solution by 10. 3) Take 500.5L of
27、 test solution with a measuring cylinder and station it until foam is removed. Then, pour the test solution into a test solution cup to a level. - The preliminary equipment of test solution shall be maintained with temperature lower than flash point by 1 previously. 4) Put the lid of test solution c
28、up, attached a thermometer(-5+110), on the test solution cup.(The inside of lid shall be cleaned previously). 5) Open the gas valve, ignite the nozzle, and adjust the test flame standard bulb to 3.5X . 6) Heat warming water so that test solution temperature rises by 0.5 every 253 seconds. 7) When te

31、n measuring 3 times. 7.1.7. Impurities (1) Purpose : This test is to evaluate impurities of thinner. (2) Test apparatus 1) Filter : Diameter 3W 3) Beaker(500L ) (3) Test method 1) Put 100cc of test solution on diameter 3W of filter and filter the test solution. 2) Check the test solution with visual
32、 inspection after filtering. 3) Repeat the test methods specified in clause 1) and 2) above three times, and there shall be free from suspended matter and mechanical impurities, shall be colorless and transparent. 7.1.8. Solubility and compatibility for dilution (1) Purpose : This test is to measure
33、 solubility and compatibility for dilution with diluted paint of thinner. (2) Test apparatus 1) Beaker(500L ) 2) Test sample : Size 100250mm 3) Diluted paint(Primer/Solid/Two Coat/Clear) 300L each. 4) Stirring bar (3) Test method 1) Primer diluted paint a. Maintain test solution at 202, take 300L of
34、 primer diluted paint with beaker. b. Add 10L of cleaning thinner to diluted paint and stir the mixture with stirring bar and check the solubility for dilution. c. 35、ng it under specified condition. 2) Solid diluted paint a. Maintain test solution at 202, take 300L of primer diluted paint with beaker. b. Add 10L of cleaning thinner to diluted paint and stir the mixture with stirring bar and check the solubility for dilution. c. The film shall be no abnormality,
